Bible Journaling...

Anyone else into it???

I'm like OBSESSED right now, big time! I've done a page pretty much every day for the past month-ish and I can not get enough of it! It is making me love reading the bible more, giving me a place to "art" and also I've been doing lots of lettering work in it which is a thing I've been wanting to work on more lately too.

This is the page I did today:

I also did a massive post about how I go about it on my blog if you are interested/curious as to what I'm talking about or what I do: http://www.shawnaclingerman.com/taking-the-leap-into-bible-journaling/

(And I post my pages on Instagram pretty much every day)

Who else doodles/journals/writes in your bibles??? Tell me! tell me!

I LOVE that you're doing this! I've been too chicken to try it because I don't think I'm artsy IRL like I am in digi.

Seriously though, I SO want to do an artsy Bible kit with you! We need to plan it!

I have had a journaling bible since fall... and I'm to scared to give it a go... even after you pointed me to the links to do a permission page. Like Libby - I don't have faith in my artistic style outside of the computer.

But I LOVE seeing everyone else's pages!!! And yes to more bible related kits!!!! :D

I'd never be able to pull it off, but I'm in awe of you ladies who do and love ooohing and aahing over your creations!

When I get together with my BFF's Mom to Art Journal together she does hers in a Bible.... I LOVE how her book looks. I'm not a religious person, so I decided to do it in a Dictionary instead.... so instead of choosing a verse to base my work around I choose a word on the page and do something for that. I love it! :)

I love seeing your pages pop up on FB. Former Babes Nikki & Heather do it, too, but I'm sure you already knew that. :)

oh I love this, but have been chicken and feel like I need instructions (off to check out your post and IG)...I may get brave...maybe.

I'm not very artsy though I don't think outside of PS either though

I tried to start about a year ago. I couldn't find a journaling Bible in my favorite translation - NIV, so I tried cutting out pages of a Bible and pasting them in a sketchbook. It was such a pain in the butt though that I didn't continue. AND I had a hard time with things not being perfect. I think you've inspired me to start again, though. I'm buying a journaling Bible - pasting pages is for the birds!!! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

Oh I have loved seeing your pages on instagram Shawna! I love that it's an extra dosage of encouragement for me too when seeing them.

Do you have any photos of how you decorate your dictionary? I would definitely not consider myself artistic but I could see trying it to encourage my creativity. I like the idea of choosing a word on the page to inspire.
