New here and I posted a LO last night and the quality didn't look as nice as most LO's I see posted here. I was wondering how is PSE do you go from 300dpi and 11x8.5 inches to an image less than 150kb! I had a hard time doing this and I think it doesn't look that great. I'm pretty much a beginner using PSE. Thanks for suggestions.

First what you gotta do is resize it to about 500x386, and then you can go up to File > Save For Web. It'll save it at 72 dpi, and you can set the quality to 70 or 80 (or it might be 7 or 8 in PSE, I can't remember...been a while).

Thanks

Thank you so much for all your suggestions! This worked fine and my files are now less than 150k!!!! I can start working on the Challenges!! Now if I can figure out how to link the LO's to my post!

There are 2 ways to do this.

If you want to show the picture of the lo go to it's page in your gallery. Right click on it, and select "view image" from the menu that pops up off your mouse. Go up to the address bar, and select the url that comes up. It should say ".jpg" at the end of it. Go to where you want to post, say what you want to say. Then in the options up top (in the line with bold/italic/underline) and click on the image of a square with a mountain inside. Paste the jpg url into the box that comes up. And there you have it. (This doesn't make the picture a click-able link though, to make it click-able, follow the instructions below with the url for the LO's gallery page)

If you just want to link some words (like "title of my LO") go to the gallery page for the LO and copy the url from the address bar. Go to where you want to post, type what you want to say. Highlight/select the words you want to be linked. Go up top by the square with the mountain, and to the left, click on the globe with the links on it. Paste the url into the pop up, and you're done.
