Bereavement Gift ideas?

One of my co-workers has been taking days off to stay with her MIL as she's been really illl. The MIL passed away this weekend. My co-worker is going to be out all week and too far for me to take her dinner or help her out. She's been so friendly and helpful to me since I started this job. I want to do something for her but don't know what.

I was trying to think of a hybrid craft or something homemade to put on her desk for when she comes back next week to let her know I've been praying for her. She is regilious, doesn't have kids of her own, in her 40's. Ideas????

ummm how about a "flip" chart on a stand...maybe with words of encouragement for each day ... or count your blessings ... or a thought for the day ... that sort of thing...of course beautifully embellished and using a fancy font?

I just realized I never posted a picture of what I made for dh for Christmas...drats. It was in the Bind-it-All idea book.

Here is my favorite saying I read when I was about 19 years old...I have loved it ever since. I'm not familiar with the Optimist Club...but it has meant enough to me to pay someone to write it out in calligraphy and frame it (that was before computers gals!)...

Oh... this sort of thing is so hard. I'd say "something beautiful, that matches something you know they like." LOL! Something that will make them smile at such a difficult time. That's different for every person... but hey, that's what makes it from the heart!

Chocolate is always welcome. Maybe just some unique hybrid packaging for some comfort treats like that? Hmm...
