Baker's Dozen for May 2024: Share your photos here!

In case you missed the news on our blog, Facebook, and Instagram, we've launched a new monthly photo challenge for 2024 here at the Sweet Shoppe and we want to see your photos!

It's the Baker's Dozen Photo Challenge. If shooting a photo every single day is too much to keep up with, you're going to love the Baker's Dozen approach. Each month, I'll give you a list of thirteen prompts, and you'll use them to inspire your photography.

Here are the photo prompts for May:

As you work your way through this list, we want you to come back to this thread and share your photos with us! And to sweeten the deal, we're offering a prize. For each image you post - up to a total of 13 - you'll get your name added to our random drawing. At the end of the month, one person will win their choice of a kit or template trio or quad from the Sweet Shoppe!

This is a golden ringed dragonfly, which is known for being large but they are mainly found in the UK so kinda a rarer find here in Florida!

This beauty recently shed but if you look at his nostril it has some shed stuck in there still. Very common spot to get stuck, it will fall out soon.

all dressed up: my daughter all dressed up to go to a concert by Olivia Rodrigo

mother: my mother enjoying her icecream on Mother's Day.

hope or hopeful: ringing the bell for peace

small detail: a detail of the bell of peace in the Japanese Garden

memorial: on May 5th we celebrate our freedom, on May 4th I was silent for 2 minutes to rember the fallen since the beginning of WW2.

black & white: my tuxedo cat.

in my bed: maybe not IN bed, but this was our nice hotelroom / suite, it was so comfy and the room was gorgeous.

a pop of color: the red poppies pop against the green grass

bright: bright flower in my garden.

a slice: some nice slices of meat on the (indoor) bbq.

eye candy: this view we had during our lunch was eye candy for sure.

something I learned: my daughter got her driving licence (she passed her exam at the end of April but could pick her licence up at the beginning of May).

I got all dressed up for an event at Leonie's school

my youngest's prechool hosted Muffins for Moms and all the moms got a little present from their kiddos (a keychain that spelled mom with other colorful beads)

my future Kindergartner is all signed up for school! I worry about the long days, and hope she will adapt fast.

the half bath had to be demo'd because of a major leak :'(

our new bathroom, almost finished, with a big step back with a leak under our beautiful floor tile :'(

something I learned
I tried Italian Soda last week and it is sooo good!

in the photo it looks like a small detail but the yarn shows how big the tile has been discolored by the leak. We're hoping it will dry eventually... if not, we will have to tear it down and redo it.
