Back stretches?

Brodo gettin her Swerb on
So lately, my back has been bothering me. I think it's a combination of sleeping weird, a craptastic pillow, and all the workouts I've been doing with Jillian. It's my mid-lower back, not my upper back/shoulders. I'm having a tough time stretching it out, no random body manipulations have worked so far.

Any thoughts?

PS~I'm heading out in a few to BB&B (among other places) to get a decent pillow, and I upped my side of our sleep number bed 1 notch to something a little more firm.

Is it the SI joint that is bothering you? My DO recommended opening this joint by taking a 2 in paperback and putting it right under the joint while laying on your back... or take two tennis balls and put them in a sock and tie a knot at the end. Then while laying down on your back, roll up and down the balls...

**disclaimer... I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on tv** :p

try leaning over, with your elbows touching your thighs. Arch your back and slowly come up. That's what we do at the gym after a back track and it stretches my back.

I've had some back issues and these are the ones that helped me the most -

Lay on your back and pull your knees into your chest - hold for 20 seconds.

Stay on your back and pull one knee into your chest at a time - hold for 20 seconds.

Stay on your back and stretch your arms out away from your sides. Bring your left knee up and drop it to the right while keeping your shoulders on the ground - hold for 20 seconds and reverse and do the other side.

Hope these make sense. Good luck!

Drink lots and lots of wine... no more back pain. :p

Sorry, IDK. Can you go to the chiro to have it adjusted? That always helps me. Plus laying flat on the floor, putting your hands underneath your chest and pushing up as far as you can, keeping your legs on the floor. Make sense? If not, revert back to option 1. LOL!!!
