Baby Shower...

I need some help with baby shower stuff.
My cousin is pregnant with her first baby, a baby girl, due in May. The baby shower is in April. And I want to do something super nice for her and her boyfriend. I was going to just buy them one of their bigger items but I've decided I want to do handmade things. (And use my digi scrap stuff for hybrid stuff) The shower is co-ed.
Here are the 2 things that I've thought of so far that I could do:
  • For both/her a diaper cake.
  • For him a daddy diaper duty tool belt.

Anything else you guys can think of that I could do/make??
**Also if anyone has instructions, tips, ideas, etc for either project that would be great!

Anything you can think of for a baby shower. I will take all ideas. My family and I are the ones putting it all together, paying for everything, making everything etc.

I made the invites and I will be the one making the baby announcements once the baby is born. I also am the one taking her maternity pictures.

I'm looking for your help ladies...

Yay thanks Amber!

I just got off the phone with my mom and she had a cute idea for favors...
washcloth boo boo bunnies.

We are making a list of ideas and then next week sitting down the mommy-to-be to discuss some of the ideas. Other ideas will be top secret...such as my gifts.

How about a "spinner" game so they can decide who changes or gets up with the baby in the middle of the night? Like this one?

Thanks... not my idea, but I found it awhile ago online in some trendy baby boutique. It was like $12.00 ... I knew one day the idea would come in handy...;)

ok, so these aren't hand-made things, but some baby-shower activities:

I loved what my mom did for my sister's baby-shower (and I'm hoping she'll do it for mine!!!)

She asked everyone to bring a bag of diapers, in addition to their gift, and everyone agreed- she pretty much assigned a size for everyone and when they brought them, they set them up on a table with the biggest ones on the bottom, making a "diaper tree" (they left them in the bags, of course! :p )

My sister loved it because she had a nice supply of diapers, and com'mon, with how much they cost, it's such a practical gift! And she still got lots & lots of clothes & other goodies! :)

And here's an incredibly fun game that I did for my sister's baby-shower:

buy between 5-8 candy bars and get the same number of diapers....

stick a chunk of each candy bar in the microwave and melt it (get where I'm going! LOL!), but don't mix them! Spoon each one into its own diaper (make sure you remember which is which and write it down, assigning each diaper a number- make sure you put the number on the diapers!)

Pass a tray with the diapers and give everyone a game card with the numbers, and have them fill in their guess of which is which! LOL! It's such a fun game, kinda nasty, but cute! :) (sorry, just had to!)

You need LuAnn, lol...I think it was her that makes the awesomest bouqet thingies...

Holly - I posted instructions for the candy bouquets on my blog if you are interested.

Also, I have a onesie card template or instructions to make your own onesie card like this one:

and here is a baby shower favor I made out of styrofoam cups. A lady posted on freecycle for left over baby showers favors so I offered and made 100 of these for her. I can mail you the pattern - just send me a PM. just wrap it around the bottom of a styrofoam cup, trace with a dull pencil, cut and lace. I did the little hanging tag for posting in the galleries. really are very easy

Between all the hybrid peeps here at SSD, I'm sure you'll get some awesome ideas to use!!!

I LOVE those bootie-cups! :)

I saved this photo from a friend who made a Daddy diaper duty tool belt from a construction worker belt she bought at Home depot/lowe's/etc. Would be really fun, esp since you're doing a co-ed baby shower!

Here's 2 things that I made for my sister's baby shower this past November. The first was for a game - I have a ton of pictures of my HUGE family, so I used baby/younger pictures of family members and since it was all pretty much family, it was a really fun game. I've read where you have the guests each take a baby picture of them - and you basically try and guess who is who.

And this was a decoration that I did for the shower. I was going to make a diaper cake - but - I was about 2 weeks from having MY baby, so... this is as crafty as I got LOL
