Baby is here (with pics!!)

I think this is probably the happiest I have been in months. I had a few minutes kinda alone with Austyn (while the lactation consultant was getting Crystal ready to nurse) and was holding her tiny little hand and just marveling over how soft her skin was. I did not get to hold her today because they keep the baby in the nursery for awhile and Crystal and Alen were so tired so we all left so they could rest. But yea like I said just totally overwhelming...if at all possible even more so then being a new mom.

Yay! Congrats! I told you it is amazing....and once you become a grandparent you "get it". I know I don't love my Laddy more than I love my kids but....idk it is just hard to explain the feeling. I am sooo happy for you and your family. Gives me chills all over.

I loved her so much before she was even here. It was really overwhelming. I mean I knew there was a baby growing in there but until I saw her it didnt feel really real. Then feeling so bad for my daughter being in so much pain. It was hard but still really good. Good news is she is feeling much much better!!

It is quite hard to watch them in that kind of pain isn't it? The good thing is that you know that pain comes with a huge reward! I know what you mean about being overwhelmed. I can't remember for sure but, I think I slept about 6 hours in 4 days.

My daughter said the epidural wore off in like 2 hours. The medication in her IV pump did not get a chance to start working before the epidural wore off. So she was in quite a bit of pain. I told the nurse before I left I had three c-sections and never at any time reached a 9 on a scale of 1-10 in pain like my daughter said she was feeling. Even with the breakthrough meds going in every six minutes she was still in so much pain. It is also so hard because I want to be there every minute...I mean she still feels like my baby girl (Crystal) but I also know her and her husband need time alone with baby and I do not want to be like my mother in law or my mother. My MIL was overbearing and thought she knew how to take care of my baby better then me and my mother had no interest in my kids. So trying to be somewhere in the middle of that where they know I love them and Austyn but not overstepping boundaries where they feel like I am trying to take over but still being there and getting to see Austyn and get to know my granddaughter.
