Baby birds update!

I am so obsessed with these birdies. I check them everyday, lol! This isn't the best shot because momma bird is all but swooping at me now. I am gaining a better understanding of the 'never leaving the next' metaphor. Maybe I've watched too many cartoons where the baby birds are hopping around in their nests, but these little dudes just sit all squashed in here like this 24 hours a day.

Just... sit... there, all crammed together like this. It's really weird when you think about it!

I keep thinking that it's probably boring most people, but I'm so enamored by them that I don't really care all that much, lol! I never got to see ANY of this nature stuff at my old house. We're doing bird watching now, with books and binoculars and everything, trying to identify snakes (shudder) and are learning different the frog calls. The only drawback... mosquitoes.

Aw, they're cute! When they're that little, they are just so sweet :) I know ours had babies because I can hear them, but I'm too scared to go up to take a peek... Might have dh do it for me :D He's not afraid of a divebombing bird!

Do you know what kind of bird they are? These are robins and the mom doesn't swoop so much as she just flies to the nearest tree and yells at us.

We have these birds at work that are swoopy and one of the girls is terrified of them, all I can think of when I see birds now is her freaking out. lol

We're making Humming Bird feeders today, wouldn't those be cool pics? Unfortunately the odds of finding a nest are next to none. They are the size of a ping pong ball and the eggs are the size of jelly beans.

Drat.

I have no idea lol. They did close the top of the nest, though, so there's only a little opening for them to fly in and out of. I'm not sure why they did that this year, but there are a crazy lot of birds that hang at our house. Seriously, everytime I go out to the car, a whole freakin flock flies out of the flower bushes next to our drive.

Thanks for the update Val. I am enjoying to photos too. WIth two cats and three dogs, the birds don't spend a lot of time near my house. lol
