Autumn?

When does the cooler weather start appearing in your neck of the woods? Are you starting to feel that "itch" yet for autumn kits or are you still in summer mode.. It snowed (well I guess technically sleet) a bit here today and we have snow on our mountains so all this has me thinking fall. are you ready for it?

YES! I am so tired of being miserably hot. I hibernate, so with all the glorious sunshine, I've got all the window blinds closed to help the cool air from escaping through our 1940s windows. That's working, but it does make me feeling like I'm in a cave.

Fall here is still lush and green, but the humidity and temps are lower. The only thing I don't like is that it's up and down. Some days I'm still sweating like it's summer, and then other days in the fall it's very chilly.

I'm ready for all the fall and autumn kits for sure!

I can't believe you have sleet. I mean, I **know** where you live, but it doesn't seem real.

Last week we had fall like temps, but it will likely be the end of September, mid October before it sets in completely.

I’m ready, we went on a cruise to the Bahamas that left out of South Carolina two weeks ago and I thought I was gonna die of a heat stroke! I don’t know how I ever lived 18 years in Florida! I guess I didn’t know better growing up, but now I know.
We had a heat advisory yesterday and with it was over 100 with the heat index.

Who knows here in Ohio. It's supposed to be 91 F tomorrow and then down to 72 on Monday. Never a dull moment weather wise here. We've had to cut our grass in November some years. Then we always seem to get this weird 70 something degree day or two in February while the snow is still on the ground.

It's absolutely terrible. We did have some rain yesterday that left cloud cover, so the temps were a bit better with a breeze BUT it was still humid as all get out. I can't imagine living anywhere else though.

Another Ohio here. The temps were much cooler last week, more fall like with 40's overnight but I certainly wasn't ready for them yet. I love summer too much!

Although with the extremely dry conditions we have had this summer, they are predicting that the trees could start changing colors earlier than normal. I've done an album I call October Daily that documents the changing colors of fall the last 2 years. In 2022, Still had some green on October 1. Last year had quite a bit of fall colors on October 1 and some trees had no leaves left on the 31st. So who knows what this year will bring!

But I'm always up for a good autumn kit...

It's still quite hot & humid here in Beijing with occasional thunder storms some days, but temperature is slowly getting cooler, as we don't really feel like it is autumn until October usually.

We had a few days of fake fall last week and I loved it. Now it's back to super hot. The past few years we've been in summer clothes all through September. It's not until October that things cool down and we get the fall foliage. But I love it, fall is my favorite.

I do miss it sometimes, but mostly in the middle of winter! LOL!

We didn't even have central air when I was grow up, we had one window unit in our living room and my bedroom was just about as far away as you could get with no shade on that side of the house.

We don't really get fall here in south Texas but I love, love fall. We had a "cold front" here this week and it is only 93. Hubby got cold last night and found an extra blanket! LOL
It was 108 last week with heat index of 115 so no sign of fall. We see some cooler temps in November but it never really gets much cooler than 50s around here unless it is a freak storm. A/C is usually on here all year maybe off in Dec and January but back on in February. I have a setting on my app for my thermostat that will switch the AC on if temp in house gets about 76 and heat on if it gets below 65. :)

On the subject of fall and even Christmas kits...I am a sucker for them...that and any outdoorsy/hiking type kit that will scrap all our travel pics.

Also crazy Ohio here. I'm over summer--I love the growing season, but being hot makes me so miserable. BRING ON ALL THE FALL! It won't cool down here for at least another month, but the leaves are already starting to change--stressed out from our very dry summer.

I just saw a post from one of the weather forecasters on a station out of Dayton. Unfortunately, the growing season in the state is in a bad state due to the lack of rain and the hot temps are not helping. In the post was a photo of an ear of corn... definitely not one I'd be eating. Ohio farmers may be hurting financially this year with low crop yield.

He also mentioned that the lack of rain and high temps are stressful to the trees so that the fall foliage may start in September. I've noticed that I've got small brown leaves on my patio now from my neighbor's trees. I don't usually see that until late September.

The older I get, the more the heat & humidity bother me, so I am very ready for Autumn temps! Yesterday it was in the low 90s here, but with the humidity the real feel was 100! Bring on the cooler temps, boots, sweaters, pumpkins, all the Fall Feels!

We don't really get autumn in South Florida. We have red maples but they don't turn red. We get a random "cold front" (below 65F) on occasion and occasionally a true cold front but never before Halloween (unless it's following a hurricane and no thank you!)

I'm kind of in summer mode year-round but love to watch the gallery change color instead of the leaves ;)

I don't remember being hot growing up, unless I was outside in my playhouse (a converted greenhouse). My cousin and I would sit out there because we had electricity and water, a couch and chair, and a B&W TV. We watched Tom & Jerry after school. I can remember sticking to the naugahyde couch and chair. I know when I was in my teens, we had AC in the house, but I'm just not sure about before that. I think the highs were in the 90s, not this terrible 100+ heat index.

In 2 days it'll officially be spring here. Temps are warming up. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather.

We probably won't get any snow until Oct (so I've been told). We had rain yesterday and the temps plummeted but they are back up today and will be around mid to high 20s for the next few weeks, maybe longer. We get a lot of weather fluctuation here. I wore a sweater yesterday with a jacket and then today I'm back to a short sleeved tee with no jacket. I'm excited to see what autumn is like here, as it'll be our first one in Alberta. I've got tickets to my first fall harvest event and can't wait! I love sweater weather and I think I'll love it here b/c there shouldn't be a lot of rain, more than Kamloops but definitely a lot less than Vancouver where I lived for most of my life.

My tomatoes are still harvesting, and I'm loving them, so from that perspective, I'm not ready for autumn yet.
We had fake autumn last week with low night temps, I worried about freezing!, and mild days. I'm ready for those mild days again with the windows open. We have some trees that are dropping and changing because of last week's fake autumn.

Usually, September is the start, and I'm raking leaves through October. We leave some for the grass and animals, but we get so many if we don't rake, it would suffocate all life! Snow is in Late December, Maybe January. We only get 1 or 2 snowfalls and have a mild winter unless Canada sends their Arctic chills our way! Please don't. Keep them to yourself this year.

We are nowhere near fall yet here. We have a high of 91 today and that's with a cold front coming through. We don't normally get any fall weather until late October or November. I'm ready for the heat to go away, but it will be here for a while yet.

I’m in Pennsylvania. The last two days have been unbearable. Hot and humid. My body hates hot and humid and when it gets really cold! . Fall is my favorite and on rare days I get a little glimpse of cooler temps and the beauty that fall brings. I think we have a day or two of cooler temps and then we are right back up in the high 80’s with crazy humidity. I’m ready to put my pumpkins out and bring out my cozy fall clothes!

Made this layout TODAY about TODAY. Looks like fall, smells like fall, sounds like fall.
AND it's 91 degrees, so doesn't really feel like fall, haha! Tomorrow's high is 78 though, so I'll take it!

I took a photo today coming home from the grocery of a tree that has already started turning... half the tree is green, the other half is a deep maroon.

Love the layout!

It's the unofficial end of summer this weekend. September can be wild here from cold to windy to hot.

Portland, Oregon area here. We honestly never really know what September will hold - it could be rainy and cooler or stay quite beautiful all month. We tend to have quite an extended fall season here when the last of the leaves don't fall until Thanksgiving or just after. Depending on the temperatures, it can be so amazing! Fall is my favorite season. I adore making fall kits too so if that feeling is hitting, go for it Kristin!

Here in MI, fall can show up mid Sept or early Oct. It just depends! I love fall so I am very much looking forward to it, but I still have a LOT of summer to scrap, so I am good with any kit at any time of the year! :)

We have seen a few leaves starting to change already, so that is exciting!

We had one glorious fall-like week the week before last - temps in the 70s and low humidity - before it went back to being summer again. It was soooo nice! I'm definitely ready for that again, but it usually doesn't happen until October here. sigh.

It was a glorious summer here in Quebec—just enough hot days to almost complain about the heat and enough rain that we didn't have yellow grass. I love summer because I can enjoy my garden and swim in our pool. This week the temperatures are starting to fall and the nights are getting pretty cold so I know that Fall is just around the corner. I noticed on my walk today that a few trees are already starting to change colours. Time to get out the sweaters! I love autumn best for scrapping. The kits are all so beautiful. Can't wait!

Ugh- I'm SO ready for Fall/Autumn. We had like 2 days of cooler temps- low to mid 70's and it was AMAZING- but now it's been upper 80's, even into 90's with no relief in sight. I'm putting up my Fall decor today anyways! ;)

Yesterday was so hot and today, suddenly, the wind is chilly. Autumn is definitely on its way here.
