So sorry for the late notice! My summer vacations have taken up a lot of headspace. But I'm happy to begin announcing the final four reads of 2026, starting with The Shadow of the Wind.
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón is a gothic mystery set in post-Spanish Civil War Barcelona. It follows a young boy, Daniel, who discovers a rare novel and becomes entangled in a dangerous, decades-old web of doomed love, murder, and a mysterious figure systematically destroying all of the author's work.
This thread is for initial thoughts, expectations, assumptions, etc - I'll be back the second week of June with a list of specific discussion questions for us all to dig into.
Just a reminder that book club is for everyone! Feel free to join us if and when you can - no pressure to keep up with every month... you can also pop in later in the year and catch up on the convo if you're a slow reader or had a long wait to get your copy. It's all very low-key.
