Art Caddy - need some brainstorming.

I'm looking to do an Art Caddy hybrid for my 5 year old.. similar to this Melissa and Doug Caddy.

I looked at our local craft store for a unfinished wood caddy, but didn't find anything. I need to brainstorm using other products or combination of products to make a good caddy. I thought that a beer six pack would be perfect, but I think the cardboard is too flimsy. I've thought of gluing a few pencil cups together, but I've only found round cups. It has to be easier than this.

I thought I throw it out there.. maybe someone has a good idea.

Thanks

Nicki, I just did a "Google" Search and came up with this....Now, I know we have so many talented Designers here so maybe one of them can create a fabulous template like this for you?;)

Art Supply Caddy
*This is an undecorated version, but I'm sure it would look super cute with one of the fabulous digital kits here at SSD....

I have two things very similar to this - both used for art supplies too. One is a metal caddy that I got a JoAnn's a few years ago and they usually have them every year about this time with their summer decor items. It was made to hold drinks because it had a metal can opener attached to it on a chain (which I removed). I've posted a few quick (unedited) photos:

The other one I have is very similiar but its plastic and it is a flatware caddy - if you google "flatware caddy" you'll find some. Mine looks like this but its orange:

Either would be easy to decorate!

HTH!

Sheila - LOL I didn't find that when I googled. LOL talk about luck. I never thought of a wine caddy - I'm sure the box would be sturdier.

Cindy - Both fabulous ideas. Flatware.. didn't even occur to me.

My diningroom table thanks you.. and so do I.

:)
