Are you thankful?

Have you been playing along with the 30 Days of Thanks? We've been playing along on the Sweet Shoppe Blog. (https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/?s=30+days+of+gratitude)

I was daily keeping up in video format on Facebook but then when I started getting sick I kind of gave up. lol

So are you doing it? Whether you are or aren't, what are some things that you have been particularly thankful for lately?

nope. I'm not thankful. I mean, I'm thankful for all this stuff all the time. but I don't feel like putting extra emphasis on it at this time of year when I'm just struggling to stay on the surface. I love/hate the holiday season and the 30 days of thanks stuff just makes me feel more guilty for not being happy with my life right now.

I don't p lay the 30 days of thanks game because I don't do bandwagons ;) but I'm so thankful for a hubby who is not deployed, a house over our heads as it gets colder than we're use to (we just moved to a colder climate) and for my hubby's job that allows us stability and for me to stay home to homeschool my boys. I'm also incredibly thankful for my 3 beautiful children and the fact that I have not suffered a loss of pregnancy. I feel grateful for these particular things every day. I've been through a storm that made me realize just how great I have it in life, so i try to be thankful for it as much as I can be.

No, not playing along... it is really hard for me to express my feelings like this... so much to be thankful that I'd want to rank them as most thankful to least and then maybe make my mom feel bad if she comes in like number 5... I also am so behind on other projects... I don't need another one to do... haha

Life is nuts right now... but I'm thankful that I got to do Jury Duty earlier this week... it was something I had wanted to do, but the last time I got called, I didn't have to report... this time I did... even though it was an a nervous experience, I'm glad that I got to do it... I'm thankful that my dad was able to come to and watch J... and thankful that J has Classical Conversations since this week was a bad week when it came to homeschooling... so he at least he learned something this week. :) I'm thankful for my kid... he is so stinkin' smart and makes me look good on a daily basis... he totally goes with the flow and doesn't cause too many waves when things change last minute... I'm thankful that my mom is having the opportunity to get a cochlear implant in the ear that has been deaf for 36 years... I pray that the surgery goes smoothly (this Wednesday) and recovery is quick... and in a month, when they turn it on, successful... and also thankful for my hubby... he is a rock and goes with the flow - he doesn't nag me when things don't get done or I slip on something since things are a bit crazy.

This is my first time doing it. The other years I saw others doing it and I just was not in a good place. I did not feel the need to post one thing a day because like mentioned..I am thankful and did not see the reason to put the emphasis on it around the holidays. This year I decided to do it for 2 reasons - 1)I have the time..... 2) Even though life is not perfect right now, I know there will be at least one thing/person a day that I am thankful to have in my life. I plan to make a page to document it for my 'about me' album and figured it'd be neat to look back on the things that are important to me at this stage of my life.

I always look at the 30 days of Thanks sort of like Pollyanna and the glad game. (lol, I hate Pollyanna by the way, but my little sister loved it so I had to watch it a lot) The best time to find something to be glad or thankful about is when you feel like you have nothing to be glad or thankful for. That's probably why last year was the only time I made it with posting something every day of November. lol

I hated Pollyanna when I was young! :-) But I think the glad game is a great approach to life. I "trained" myself to do it on daily basis and it works. I don't feel the need to write things down - but we also have no Thanksgiving, so it doesn't come natural to me.
