Are you a Thread Killer? Let the Game Begin!

Hey girls!

This day went by way too fast. The kids have early out all week (for parent/teacher conferences) and we had our parent teacher conf today, book fair, errands, I made 4 lives of homemade bread, had two people over for dinner, did major homework with the boys...I'm beat! Not to mention it was the first day back after being out of town for 4 days and it's a Monday, eeek! Hopefully I'll be around more this week.

Marla - that accident sounded so scary! Thank heavens no one was hurt, sound like both of their guardian angels were working overtime today, thank heavens. For your sister, I'm sorry. It will be interesting to hear that the specialists say, and good that you guys don't think it's cancer. If it's surgery - that's something that's yucky but sooo much better than cancer. Please keep us posted.

Jen, your are the coolest babysitter to want to watch this little sweetie and to clean some major poo! lol

Kate - (waves) I hear ya on being busy! Hope you hd a good day, sweetie!

Donna - sorry about your fall! I broke my tailbone falling down the stairs before - it hurt. I tend to have falling down the stairs down quite well - falling up the stairs doesn't happen much for me, but sounds like no fun!

Jennifer, feel better sweetie - that sounds like no fun.

Night! :)

Jen - whew and ewe! At least she's fun to be with - minus the poo, lol!

I missed two classes with a test and presentation I was supposed to make but have a dr's certificate so should be back in business tomorrow

Today WILL be better!

Holy FOG! Winter is here, our first major fog bank of the year has rolled in. It's so thick I can't see the houses across the street clearly.

I've got a meeting in a few hours, and am hoping to finish a layout I've been working on. It only has 25+ photos on it and I was crazy enough not to use a template.

Sorry to intrude, but I think Darcy should change the rules for this thread! Like, awarding the price to the 3000th post, or to the person with most posts in this thread, or something. :-)

holy poop. I just changed the poopiest diaper of my life, so far. Babysitting my ballerina princess and her 2 month old sister tonight, and little miss baby pooped alll the way from her armpit to her ankle on one side and up the back and down to the knee on the other....

I just saw this (I'm so behind!) and hahahaha!! Eeeewwww is right!

I am so not shutting up :P I like yammering away with y'all every day. This thread has been going on for almots FOUR months.

I bet we have the biggest thread SSD has ever had, lol! Did you guys know this thread started on one of my boys birthdays? hehe So fun! :)

It would be wrong to stop this thread... just sayin'

Haha. No worries.

My sister has a kidney stone and UTI and a mass on her kidneys. She had to go to the emergency room today. :( I was going to take my nephew for the next several days, but can't find a babysitter anywhere. It's driving me nuts.

am heading to bed - just finished working on my powerpoint that I am presenting tomorrow but need to get to bed - have that plus two exams tomorrow

Good luck with your exams, Jennifer!

Jen, I just love to cook. I made 3 meals Monday night. Dinner for that night (spaghetti...nothing special), french toast casserole for brunch the next day at work, and beef stew for dinner the next night. I just didn't want to come out of the kitchen. And somehow, I even scrapped a page with Misty's new kit coming this weekend!

wow! sounds like you were a super cook, lol! I love to cook, hate to clean.

I have to go to the library today. My library books are overdue. oops.

Good luck with your exams, Jennifer.

I love to cook, hate to get groceries. Usually I'm held back from cooking something because I don't have one thing.

I made it an entire week without stepping foot in the grocery store. I think this is an epic win, lol, considering I normally got almost daily.

Woot. December Daily Journal templates are all set up, and just have to be printed as I complete them. Foundation pages are almost done as well, they should be done in the next hour!

I'm not even going to attempt a December Daily... maybe when we have kids? I already do a 365, so I have a pretty good record of the "every day" now.

So get this girls. I posted the following on my facebook: "You know you live in the Oklahoma panhandle when your husband gets mad in his sleep and mumbles- "damn tumbleweeds!" :)"

And my mother-in-law made said "UNLIKE!!!" And made a big deal about it. I think she thinks I'm making fun of my husband or something? She's so freaking crazy. Anyway, I'm taking advantage of the new facebook restricted list and putting her on it. Weird thing is, I really liked her before we got married. It was like she decided to let her real colors shine after I was a real part of the family.

You're in-laws be cra-zay, Marla :D

I have a headache today (well, maybe it's a fake headache) and want to go home and scrap. Really badly.

I'm seriously considering bringing my laptop to work tomorrow and editing pictures in my downtime. It is sooooooooo slow around here this week. And my boss would be okay with it as long as no "customers" realized what I was doing. Not that we have any of those most of the time. lol.

Hey threadkiller girls!

I'm having a rough week, I'm trying really hard to stay positive but feeling drained. Here's the two biggest, heaviest things I'm dealing with:

1. Yesterday my husbands parents met with hospice to set it up for his grandmother and they gave her 1 to 2 days to live. :( That pretty much shocked the heck out of the family. We all knew she would maybe pass away this year, but no one expected it so soon, kwim? He's totally bummed and spent like 6 hours up at the hospital. This grandmother is very elderly and has had dementia for years and bless her heart, I think it will be a blessing for her to go, but it's still really hard to let go, you know what I mean? And my tenderheart hubby has never lost a grandparent yet (I don't have any of my grandparents living and haven't for over 6 years) and it's hard for him.

2. My friend was involved in a horrible accident on Monday night. We have a passenger train in Utah called Frontrunner, and somehow (no one knows at this point) my friend's mini van with her and two of her kids (aged 1 and 5) got caught between the railroad crossing arms and were stuck on the track in their minivan and were hit by the train. Miraculously they all lived. I looked up the pictures of the car on the local news site and can't believe she lived through this - her car is completly destroyed. The kids are all fine, but my friend has a colapsed lung, broken shoulder, broken collarbone, and multiple skull fractures that they had to do a 5 hour surgery on that night to get skull fragments removed. She's in ICU for at least a week and has a long recovery ahead of her.

She's the sweetest lady and lives near me. In fact, she had scheduled me 3 weeks ago to do their family portraits this Saturday (I've done their family portraits for the last 4 years). Luckily people from her church have already been taking care of her kids, cleaning her house and bringing in dinners to her family, which I'm so thankful for.

It sort of blows my mind that she and I were sitting at a piano recital for a kids a few weeks ago and having everything be normal and now, just in a flash, it's not normal and how fast things can change...it breaks my heart.

She's at risk for her brain to swell for the next 3-4 days. If you're the praying kind, please pray for her. She's the sweetest.

So, I may be MIA for a few days, if I have the time, I'll check in, if I don't this is why. :(

Andrea - so sorry about Jeff's grandma. It is so hard, even when they're old and you know it's a blessing for them to move on. Big HUGS to you!

And, the FrontRunner accident . . . we're kind of dealing with that over here in our neighborhood too. It happened right here near my house and she was actually on her way to pick up her son who was playing at my friends' house a few blocks over. My friend was asking on our neighborhood FB group if anyone knew about the accident because her friend was 45 mins. late picking up her son. And, then it turned out that it was her in the accident. From what we've heard, she is going to make it, but these next few days are most important because of the possible brain swelling. I think the hardest thing is that the kids aren't allowed to see her right now, and I'm sure it's so tough on them to not have their mom around and not really know what's going on.

One theory of the accident that we heard was that another car hit her from behind and pushed her out onto the tracks. I have no idea if that is what actually happened, but. . . .

We (and the whole neighborhood over here) are keeping that family in our prayers, for sure!

Andrea, I am so sorry for your families loss. :( Hugs to you.

I will be praying for both of your friends. How scary. I live across the road from a train track and am always so afraid of something like that happening near my house. Things like this are totally eyeopeners that remind you have fragile life can be.
