Are Capri's OK for an Interview??

I have gotten a call, then want me to come in for an interview for the manager position,(for the job I onyl started less than 2 months ago)

The thing is, I don't know how to dress up, I don't own formal clothing, and with it being summer, and the interview is an hour drive away....What do I wear????

Personally I would say no on the capri's - I would dress in summer attire - If the company is business casual all the time then light pants or a skirt - but no capris -
 
I don't think they're appropriate for a management interview, but you can do what I did when I went to an interview that far away... I wore shorts and a tank top for the drive and changed before my interview into my suit. It's super easy to do your hair, too, because it's already hot, just pull it into a bun before you even get into the car, and if you're going to be driving with the windows down, throw a scarf over it so you don't get flyaways. Don't bother with a bit of makeup til you get there, it'll just melt off before you're there anyway. ;)

I agree that you shouldn't wear capris for an interview. If you have some light pants that don't wrinkle too much, I'd wear those and a light shell or shirt for the ride, then put a jacket on when you get to the interview.
 
I would agree...no capris. Lately, at my work they have been interviewing for a "manager" position and several prospective applicants have shown up in capris because it is summer...however, they seemed like a complete turnoff because our company has a dress code that does NOT allow any of the employees to wear capris. So I would say not only does it not look as professional, but you also don't know what the dress code is - especially for the manager position.
 
It's better to overdress than underdress for interviews. I would say no to the capris and no to any open toed shoes/sandals, too.
 
ok, you wear slacks and a nicely fitted button up shirt, maybe 3/4 length. with a nice pair of heels and a little bit of tasteful jewelry.
 
My issue would be shoes. I think you should wear heels for a management interview, and heels don't look professional with capris. I'd go for a loose skirt or slacks.
 
I will have to wear my regular black jeans and SLGA polo top if I get the job, not dress clothes, but I still want to look the part. I know that a tank top is a definate no no, but was unsure about the bottoms. I guess, I will have to suck it up and wear the really dressy clothes and maybe even the high heels, hope I don't fall,,LOL

My advice would be to nix the capris and wear something a little more formal. I don't see a problem with open toed sandals if they are dressy ones.
 
heh heh... I wasn't suggesting you wear a tank top, I was suggesting you wear something totally casual for the 4 hour drive and change when you get there, so your suit is nice and fresh for the interview... not driven in. =D
I did that for a management position that was 3 and a half hours away and in the middle of the summer.
