Anyone Watch The Mentalist?

I watched a couple of episodes from last season, out of desperation for something to watch and now I'm trying to decide if I liked it enough to watch another season.

I just can't get over that guy. He's obnoxious, but funny. I don't know whether I like him or can't stand him.

Anyone else??
 
I have watched a few episodes, some I liked, some not so much. Overall not bad but I do not get sad or furious when I missed an episode, kwim?
 
I like it! It's a crime show without the real gory stuff. Sometimes (okay, a lot of times) CSI is just too wacked for me. This show is one that both my hubby and I like. I like him being a blunt jerk.... except he doesn't realize he is a jerk because he is also kind. LOL

I'm a CSI lovah {Criminal Minds too} - I love these shows. Maybe that's why I can't decide on The Mentalist??
 
I thought he was a jerk at first, too. Then you realize that RedJohn killed his wife and daughter (quite horrifically) because he was pretending to be psychic and know stuff about RedJohn and it starts to make sense. He made a good living for years with the whole pretending to be psychic thing.

So now he's devastated and cynical, and has no time for anything but getting to the point. I'm at the point where I really like him, and the rest of the group.

Maybe I need to go back and rent the previous seasons!

Well said, Kim.

I love this show. Andrew and I decided to watch it since it's a similar premise to that of Psych (though the Mentalist character no longer claims to be a psychic), but a more serious version. We weren't disappointed in the least. Honestly, I think it's one of the more eagerly anticipated season premieres in this house.

Leah, I think if you watched all of season one you'd probably enjoy it more. Seeing an episode here and there doesn't give you a true appreciation for the cast of characters on this show.
 
I love it too. It's Tuesdays here too, on CTV, right Jennilyn? He's really funny. Now someone answer me one question. What movie has the female actress been in? I recognize her but don't know from where.
 
We watched the whole season of Mentalist last season and really liked it. It's one of the very few shows we watch. I can't really handle the blood and gore of other criminal shows.
