Anyone have an Olympus?

My dh bought one off someone for me pretty cheap, to replace my nikon - which I still loved by the way :) lol. But it was an 8.1 mp, and this one is 12 mp. Anyways, it's an Olympus Stylus Tough 8000. Never heard of it before, but it's waterproof?! I don't think I'll ever be brave enough to test that one - LOL. So, I'm still getting used to it - it has a ton more settings, but seems easy enough to switch to after using Nikon. Oh, and it's 6.6 ft shockproof - a total bonus for me... I'd dropped my Nikon several times and dh would literally have to take it apart to get it back together right for me. I already knocked this one off the top of the fridge  but thankfully no pieces flew off, and my pics are all ok! Here's the camera it is:

I'm still testing out settings and stuff, but I've gotten a few really awesome shots! Like this one for my 365 pic today:

It looks a little unreal to me.

So anyways, lol, I was wondering if anyone else has one and what they like/dislike about it.

I have had Olympus since 2005. My first camera was a small compact C-370 with 3x optical zoom, no settings (just few scenes) and 3,2 MPix. This tiny machine was able to do awesome pictures with amazing photo balance and sharpness.

Last year in May we bought Olympus SP 590-UZ with 26x optical zoom and fully manual settings M/S/A. I LOVE it! It has fantastic colour, sharpness, it is user friendly and I especially love the "bird watching" scene :D I am so happy to have it as a main family camera and I would never change it for anything else :)

Meantime the old camera died while I was climbing on a rock during hiking trip - I had it on my belt, even though in case... but it didn't survive. So I bought a tiny Olympus FE-310 to carry it in my handbag anywhere, but I was surprised (in a not positive way) that the picture quality is much poorer than the old camera had. It often overburns and just in little bit worse conditions the photos are dull and not sharp. But as a pocket camera for little money is sufficient.

I have the Olympus E-420 DSLR and just adore it. I also have the Olympus stylus and could care less for that one...I use it sporadically but I ended up giving it to my 14 yo to pack about.

Oooh, I've heard about the though series! I own a Canon DSLR myself, had a small SLR Olympus back in the days, but I sucked with it. LOL

I envy you about shock- and waterproof though. Kinda handy for holidays. And I bet you can take aaaawesome shots with it. I LOVE those that show underwater and above the surface in the same picture.

I don't have an Olympus. But, I just wanted to say I have a Pentax waterproof & I love it! I used to live in Panama City, FL & I took it in the ocean & in our pool ALL the time! I take it with me anytime we go on vacation! Love that little thing! Definitely test it out! But, I'd try it out in like a glass of room-temperature water first! :)

I did notice that it overburns some shots too already. Once I noticed it, I played around in the menu until the shots got better, and sometimes the pics have like zero color to them. I liked that the Nikon I just had to point and shoot literally to get good pics... But I like that this one has more menu options. I'll just have to play around a lot more to figure out which settings work for what kind of pics I'm taking. I also love the 12 mp, and for 90$, it's not a bad deal. lol, although I still carry my little Nikon around in my purse also, just in case I need a great pic and I'm not getting it with the Olympus.

Oh, lol, another thing I noticed... I kept getting a horrible shadow on the lower right of my pics at first... -it was just my finger over the bottom corner of the flash! It's over quite a bit more than my Nikon's flash, so I'm gonna have to get used to that too! :)
