Anyone else?

I swear, it takes all my will power not to meet my DH at the door every day, hand over the kids and RUN. Please tell me I am not the only one! :)

And I'm lucky - he's a teacher so he's off 8 weeks in the summer, leaves the house at 6:30, but is usually home at 4:00.
 
my kids are older and arent home all the time so now I guess it isnt so bad anymore. Still do get stressed sometimes though and want to just run away for a few hours LOL.
 
Oh I so used to feel this way! When the boys were younger, I literaly would watch the minutes tick off the clock waiting for my DH to get home.

It's a bit better now that they are older and my oldest is SO helpful. But I still have those days where everyone is crying, dinner isn't made, the house is a mess and all I want to do is take a nap! LOL!
 
Oh if I had a DH I definitely would! Dealing with a toddler alone leaves me exhausted at night! I can't imagine having more than one child!
 
we have dinner as soon as DH walks in the door, then the kids are showered and in their PJ's by 6.30pm and I'm "bye, got to do some scrapping". My kids are 5, 3 and 20mths
 
OOOO GOD yes! Not everyday, but at least once a week most weeks. DH is taking Masters courses and some weeks the boys don't see him but an hour total ALL week so sometimes I think they are just missing daddy and that equals a BAD day around here. But mommy is going to Orlando for 5 days leaving on Wed so they will get a daddy fix quite soon! Thank goodness my trip worked out to be between classes for DH too!!!! I love it when things like that work out!!!!
 
EVERYDAY! lol! It's so hard....and we only have one car so when DH is gone I can't even go anywhere with the kids. We just stay at home all day every day for the most part. I LONG for the time he gets home!
 
yes! and my husband works long days. he is a shift worker so is 4 on 4 off (2 days 2 nights) He leaves at 5:30am and gets home at 8:30pm.. (or pm then am for nights)...

That's how my hubby's schedule is!! He works 4 days, has 4 days off then goes in for 4 nights.....etc....it rotates every week. he works 9-9, so it makes for looooooong days/nights.
 
LOL, that's probably how DH feels! I'm the lucky one that goes to work FT and he stays home with the kids. By the time I get home, he's burnt out and disappears into the kitchen and I'm left there in the living room with 3 brats!
 
every. single. day. My hubby has a really stressful job, too, so when he gets home he wants some quiet time to unwind. His commute is only about 10 minutes so it's not quite long enough. So I am trying to keep the kids occupied for a while longer after he gets home and all I want to do is hide in the bathroom (the only door that locks!). My kids are really good kids, but they are just fighting constantly these days. Or one or both of them is always trying to climb on me!
 
oh yeah, Melissa. LOL Jeff's working 12 hour days, 6 days a week right now, so it's tough. He leaves the house around 4:30 in the morning and doesn't get home until 7:30 at night. By then, I'm ready to take the laptop and hide. LOL
 
at first i misread this and thought you were saying how excited you were to see him that you had to run to the door to greet him!! ahahaha!! but, alas you want to give him the kids and run AWAY from your house. i gotcha! :)

My DH leaves the house around 7am each day and get home around 6:30-7pm, sometimes later, so a lot of the time it's just me with the kids ALL DAY. I don't even think DH is taking vacation time this summer. I'll be getting a break next week though when my ILs take the girls from Thursday morning to Sunday afternoon. Woot!
 
Oh yes, every day. My hubby works from 8-5 with only a 10-15 minute commute and half the time, we are outside waiting for him to get home around 5:15. If he's even 10 minutes late, I start panicking (for myself, not him!).

fortunately, his job is totally NOT stressful and he is just as happy to be the dad and take care of the girls as they are to see him. He pretty much gets all the kid time once he's home--mostly because they want it.
 
HA! I do throw the boys at him and hide. I try to have everything done before he gets home so all he has to do is keep the munchkins away from me and give them a bath.

I also put my ipod on around 4:30. I walk around in oblivion and tell my boys I can't hear them.
 
I used to feel this way practically every day when my kids were younger. And if he was even 5 minutes late, I'd be calling him and asking "WHeeeeere are you????"

But now, my kidlets are 7 and 4 and I guess I gave finally gotten used to them :p.
 
When DH was here to come home...YES definately...but I still did bed/bath stuff but having him take him off my hands for a couple hours was nice...

With DH gone, sometimes by the time I get DS to bed I am so exhausted I don't know what to do. Most times I want to go straight to bed lol and DS's bedtime is 7pm...but I can't waste that only alone "me" time so I try to stay up and get some things done.
 
I feel that way most days. But I usually do hand them off to him as soon as dinner is over, so it's not too bad. I used to go shut myself in the bedroom adn read but a few months ago I started hanging out in the living room with everyone else again. He's on duty as Primary Parent though.
 
Oh yeah, that's me, too. Or should I say I want to, but DH feels like he's been working hard all day too and there's no reason I should relax while he stays on duty. (I get that, but some days...)

DH is in a busy time at work right now, so he's leaving by 7 am and getting home around 7 pm, sometimes working Saturdays also. (Normally he's gone 7-6, M-F only.) My kids wake up right before he leaves, and by the time he gets home it's time to give them snack and put them to bed. Last night he came home early and left me with the kids because there was a preseason football game on he wanted to watch...the evil eye I kept giving him must have hit its mark, because tonight he came home on time and sent me out by myself until the kids were asleep :thumbup:
 
LOL, oh yeah! I start the count down at about 5pm, or what I like to call "the witching hour". LOL!
 
My DH works 2nd shift, so some nights I am counting the minutes until bed time. I feel so happy to see them when I pick them up at daycare, but sometimes they have me irritated and thinking, "Is it bed time yet?" before we even get home. I hate it when I feel that way, and try to cut them some slack because they are just kids ... but yeah ... sometimes that is hard to do.

Anyway, just wanted to join the masses and say yep ... btdt too. (((HUGS!!!)))
