Anyone else SPRING cleaning?

My DH and I caught the spring cleaning bug.... ahhhh.... my house is NEVER this clean. It feels great!

We did the living room and kitchen on Saturday, then today I did the linen closet, the bathrooms and the office.

Now if only I could convince two little boys that it should stay this way! LOL!

I cleaned out a bunch of clothes a few weeks ago. I have to sort them and make a list so I can take it to the Salvation Army.

Thankfully we don't have much to clean. We haven't cluttered the house up too much since we just got it. So that's a blessing, lol.

Now my scrap stuff? That's a whole other story. Not so clean. But I've given up on that area being clean all together, lol. It's just not natural for a scrap space to be spick and span!

We have been spring cleaning around here too. Going through all the kiddos clothes and weeding out the ones that don't fit anymore etc. Doing the same with their toys. Getting rid of the ones with pieces missing, broken, etc. The next project to tackle is the garage. It is a chore, but it does feel great to have it all cleaned up and organized.

Does it look like the cleaning bug has bit me - I'm sitting here posting b/c I don't feel like cleaning ;)

I did DS2's room on Saturday as well as our living room/computer room/bird room....what a mess that is. The kids play on that computer and the bird creates so much dust it is not even funny!!!!! I could dust in there every day (but I don't). That is all I have done...much more needed but who has the time during the week???

every now and then i get the bug. but my house is so cluttered, i don't know where to start! plus we are contantly remodeling/updating something. its a never ending process when you buy a repo. but i can't complain. $12,600 for a house ain't to shabby, hehe. they dropped the price down from $30, 000! and we snagged it last spring. now, its our burden lol.

I spring-cleaned my scrapping files...does that count??

We haven't been in this house long enough to collect junk - we threw it all out before we moved last summer!
I'm sure we'll probably be doing some fall cleaning around here!

We have been here too! Yesterday we took a full truck load to the garbage dump! Cleaned out our basement yesterday and took all the baby clothes out of the garage sale pile to the storage pile YAY If only we didn't sell the crib, carseats etc!

Yup! Been going through all my kids clothes this weekend and getting out summer clothes (we are going to be in the 80's this week). My closet is next on the list.

I'm trying to. It's actually gotten so bad around here that it's almost too distracting to scrap. Last week I donated bags and bags of clothes. My major problem is that I don't have a home for everything . . . so I've got piles of clutter . . . plus I am a visual person who needs to see everything out in the open. Not good.

The one good thing about my DH being out of work - he's constantly cleaning the house! I just need to clean up my personal and scrap areas, LOL. We've been spring painting instead.....

We've got a pile of stuff to throw away. I'm waiting till we get those over the range microwaves so we can free up some counter space. Our micro is a hand me down and ready to croak. I can't wait to throw stuff out though, I hate clutter and being in a small house it drives me crazy that we have stuff everywhere. :cursing:

I did last week and took 4 bags of clothes and shoes just from my room...my philosphy...if I haven't worn it in a year, then I probably am not going to wear it {shoes included}...I even made DH go through his 3 drawers of T-shirts!

i SO need to organize my scrap stuff... i am scared though - lol. the house surely needs to be done too...

*note to self... keep working on that get rich quick scheme so we can hire a maid*

We are!!! Man, my DH had the day off today so we got up early and FINALLY cleaned the garage out! YEAH!! I trip to the bottle depot, one trip to the cardboard place, one to the north dump and one to the south dump!!! YEAH!!! Now I can scrap!! LOL

Kind of... I cleaned for about 3 hours yesterday. I hate doing the "deep" cleaning like baseboards, blinds, etc. so I think I'm going to hire a housekeeper to come in once a month and do that stuff. I'm going to make DH go through his closet on his next 4-day and get rid of stuff. He has 57 t-shirts hanging in there and he only wears the same dozen or so. I cleaned out all of my maternity and stuff that was too big for me a couple of weeks ago and the donation van picked it up on Friday. Now I need to do the kids' closets...

I've gone through the boys clothes, sorting out the stuff that doesn't fit, but there isn't much of that. I was very thorough when I packed up the warm weather stuff in the fall. I've been going through the piles of things that have accumulated since Christmas, getting them sorted & put away.

I'm waiting for the weather to warm up enough to keep the windows open for several hours to do the main cleaning - washing curtains & walls, moving everything & cleaning behind & under them. All the dust stirs up my allergies & it gets really bad if I can't open the windows.

I'm always doing some sort of spring cleaning - going through dressers and closets. BUT.... hubby mentioned the other day about hiring someone to clean weekly for us! I'm like "Um....YEAH!!!" LOL.... Does that make me a bad Mom and wife to want/need a housekeeper??? I can live with it if it does :D

Definitely does NOT make you a bad mom. It makes you a SMART mom because now you can spend more time doing things (like scrapping) for the kiddos!

I've been working on spring cleaning my girls room so far. Weeding out some of the TONS of toys they have and going through clothes etc. to get rid of stuff that doesn't fit. I also got them two of the 9 cube organizers from Target that have the canvas bins and they are working great for containing all their toys and books!! I want to get another one for the baby's room soon for all his little toys and stuff too.

Once I get their room totally done then I'll start on the rest of the house, including our closet & Kyle's closet (cause half of it is stuff of DH's that he never wears!) and then when the weather gets nice and stays nice for awhile we are going to tackle our garage and get rid of a bunch of stuff out there too!!
