anyone being a hermit crab tonight?

We'll be home too. We went out until we had kids and now we don't anymore. :D

Last year the kids both stayed up until midnight, they're asking to this year, so we're having mandatory nap time currently. :D We'll make cookies later and I might run to the store for junk food, we'll see if DH is going to make dinner or what.... LOL

Not Me!!!! We're going out for the first time in probably 3 or 4 years. Two parties - our BFF's neighbors first and then DH's Captain's house to ring in the New Year.

We're staying in too - just like always!! lol I prefer it that way though - we're just a bunch homebodies!! Libby says she wants to stay up till midnight...we're going to let her...I know for a fact she won't be able to. We're making snacks (puppy chow, sausage cheese balls and buffalo chicken dip) and having pizza for dinner. Then we're just hanging out together. I'm actually really excited about it :)

Well, not like we ever do anything for NYE anyway...but this year DH has to work :( Which stinks IMO, because it'll put him in the Dallas area around midnight. Here's hoping he gets out of the Big D before all of the drunks hit the roads.

And tomorrow...Rose Parade and grocery shopping. Super exciting LOL

We are hosting a small party with 2-3 other families. We have lots of snacky things & a small bonfire & fireworks at midnight. We do it every year because it is DH's b-day.

Honestly though, I'd rather it just be us. Maybe just lay around the house & go to bed whenever I felt like it or go out to Denny's for a midnight snack.

I'm actually sort of grumpy about the whole thing this year because I'm so not in the mood to have a dozen over tired kids shrieking and whining all around the house until 1am or whenever their parents feel like going home. (last year they were here until 3am. I went to bed at 1am and let DH hang out with them) Unlike all the other kids, who will sleep in until 9-10 in the morning, my little demons will be up at 5:30-6a just like always, only cranky as all get out because they only had 5 hours sleep. And guess who gets to get up with them? Anticipating that makes me annoyed about the whole thing

Yes! With 2 little ones (5 years old and 20 months) we are just staying in, watching the ball drop at 9:00 (we are in CA) and probably getting pizza or something. :)

we are staying in, but you really can't do much with 4 kids that range from 2 to 16:p...... but staying more so because I have a 24 hour duty tomorrow {Navy calls!!!}...but it's not so bad, I volunteered for it so all the young kids could go out and party and I could be off with my family for Xmas :) but I do have a few beers int he fridge and will probably be up wiating for the new challenges to get posted:p

i worked all day. i fully intend on spending the entire night in my pajamas. with my laptop, a couple movies, and some junk food. i'm not one for going out to begin with. so this isn't any big change. plus, everyone's gone. so i have the house to myself, pretty much.

We're home ... our initial plans fell through ... my mom is sick so that's a no go ... trying to convince the kids to get off the games and play board games but it's not working so far. No mojo to scrap unfortunately since I need my 2010 wall calendar DONE now!

We're staying home as we always do! We're watching a show I recorded a couple weeks ago, Pixar Shorts. The boys are loving it! As soon as it's over though, they're going to bed. Andrew and I will probably crash soon after.

i've never partied on NYE, lol. We have always stayed home. just once it'd be fun though, if we could get a babysitter for my three crazy kids.

I'm at home, have been since having children. We used to go downtown and "watch the acorn drop" lol (our city drops a giant acorn since we are the city of oaks.) My 6 yo is trying to stay up until midnight, we'll see if she makes it! I have zero desire to be anywhere other than my house at midnight, until I have grown kids lol.

Dogwood Moma- I watched the acorn drop tonight on t.v. ;)
I don't think we've been out since Kassi was born. Hubby always has to work, some inventory junk that is mandatory. He actually got home in time to watch the acorn drop with me, over some mexican dip and chicken wings.
Now the old man is asleep. Yes, he's knocked out already and here I am stuffed with junk food and still wide awake.

Who else's husbands are snoring? Pffft. Men. Party poopers.

I was working 11.30am until 6pm on NYE & 3.30pm til 7.30pm tonight so I didn't really celebrate much at all. I will however celebrate knowing when my next day off is. Initially I was due to work from December 27th to January 4th with no breaks but that was ok because most of my co-workers are off on holiday. Yesterday though I found out that I won't be getting a day off until January 9th which would make it 13 days straight, I said no I'm not working until next Friday so hopefully with a bit of tweaking I may have next Tuesday Jan 5th off.

We were hermits for a change - we've watched the fire works for the past 2 years in the city and my dds begged to have a loafer at home - they stayed up and we visited a friend but got back home within seconds of the fireworks starting on tele!
Didnt miss the urine smell (due to lack of facilities and effects of alcohol...not ours i assure you), the drunken massess, broken glass or the street language one little but - strange huh!! But the fireworks was def a little less exciting as a broadcast!

Ours has been long gone now and its nearly the 2nd so happy New year everyone - loafers, layabouts and loud party goers alike!!

We stayed at home too - I like it that way. Our youngest is scared of fireworks, so we put her to bed at about 10, before the worst noise, and our 7 yo stayed up with us. We played guitar hero and board games, and then set off some fireworks at midnight, and then SO and DD went for a walk to look at more fireworks while I stayed home with a glass of Baileys watching the fireworks from around the world on telly.
