Anybody do anything special for Easter?

And I don't mean, "I go to church" or "We have an egg hunt with the family." I'm looking for something I can do w/my kids to teach them about Jesus or even just something fun and crafty. Any ideas???

We do Resurrection Rolls every year. It may be a little much for your boys, but they will love eating them.

Give each child one triangle shaped section of crescent roll. This represents the tomb.
amaizbu1.gif
Each child takes one marshmallow which represents the body of Christ.
amaizbu1.gif
Dip the marshmallow in the butter and roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture. This represents the oils and spices the body was anointed with upon burial.

Lay the marshmallow on the dough and carefully wrap it around the marshmallow.
amaizbu1.gif
Make sure all seams are pinched together well. (Otherwise the marshmallow will "ooze" out of the seams)

Bake according to package directions.

Cool.

Break open the tomb and the body of Christ is no longer there!!

That's a very cool idea, Darcy! But we can't get refrigerated crescent rolls. Can I make crescent rolls from scratch? (please don't laugh at my cooking stupidity)

I like that idea, Darcy. I have been thinking about doing this with my boys this year. It is where you make--I think they are meringue-like cookies--and put them in the oven overnight and then wake up on Easter morning to find them empty. Along the same lines as Darcy's, just cookies instead of rolls.

Darcy always has the best Jesus ideas.
LOL We just love Him :)

Becky- I think we might try that this year - we've done the rolls for a few years now at my Dad's when we go to lunch there, but this will be great to do overnight to look forward to on Resurrection Morning!
