We're going camping with my husband's family the last week of March to Fontaineblue state park. I need help coming up with family friendly things to do! I definitely want to go to New Orleans - what activities there do you guys recommend? museums, parks, historical/scenic stuff, etc?

Anything else nearby the campground we should be sure to check out? We'll be there for an entire week...

Thanks for the help ladies!!

Becky,
It has been quite a while since we have been to New Orleans, but my husband grew up there. When we go, he does just about everything he can to keep us out of the Bourbon Street District. He just doesn't like how touristy it is... and the last time we were there my little girl thought she saw Santa sleeping against a building... We really did enjoy the Zoo and the Aquarium. And you have to go to Cafe Du Monde!! The kiddos love the Beignets, and we all get powder sugar all over us... it is wonderful. And if you love coffee it is awesome there too. I will ask him about any other sites that might be good for the fam. How old are you little ones?

Thanks Alison! We'll plan on doing the zoo and the museum then for sure!

I'm just relieved that this campsite is at least near another city...the last few trips we've taken with family have been kind of in the boonies and its been hard to find stuff to do for young kids.
