Another Kindle Question

Is the $40 to not get ads on it worth it? I know on some of my free apps on my phone, the ads get on my nerves, but its a smaller screen. So tell me your thoughts. please.

The ads are never intrusive - at least it's not been my experience. They are part of your screen saver, so you see them then, but they've never intruded on anything else at all.
 
as far as I know the ads are only on the "sleep" screensaver. I don't have ads that version came out after I got mine but I'm almost positive the ads aren't there when you are reading.
 
I also vote that the extra money to avoid ads isn't worth it. You don't see them when you read. They show up as screen saver photos when your Kindle is off and as a small strip on the bottom when you browse your list of books. (ETA: That's how it works with e-ink Kindles. I don't know how things differ with the Fire.)

Warranty depends on you, I'd say. I've heard that Amazon is pretty good about giving people deals on a new Kindle or sometimes even replacing it if one breaks. I didn't buy the warranty. I usually only buy them on cameras and kids' electronics, since those take more abuse in my house. I have the Touch, but if I'd been buying a Fire for my kids to share with me I would have considered a warranty.

Not intrusive at all. In fact when I bought my kindle there was no Special Offers Kindle available yet so I got the regular one with the other screensavers. I actually turned on the ads through my acct so that I could see them. There are some good deals sometimes. But like the others have said you only see them like a screensaver when your kindle is asleep.
 
I've had one with and one without. My first was before they started ads, and my new one I wasn't going to bother paying for them to be removed. I haven't been bothered at all :)
