Another Facebook Etiquette Question

I just got a friend request from a former classmate that I barely knew back in school. I know who she was, but we never really talked or hung out. We had different social circles (mine lower than hers, LOL). I don't want to be rude to her, but I don't want to accept. I don't have time to keep up with everyone I've ever met on FB, nor do I want to let near strangers get that much personal info about my family. What's the best way to handle it?

I had one person send me 3 or 4 friend requests. Just didn't get it. I ignored them all.

I also have a set list named "vague friends" that can't see hardly anything. I have them blocked from my status updates, any links I posted, any time I'm tagged in a photo, my personal info, seeing who my friends are, wall posts, education and personal info. So basically, they can see very little about me. My kids' friends have started adding me on FB, and I severely limit how much anyone under the age of 18, and/or that I really don't know well, can see about me.

just ignore em.. no biggie. :]

ps I'm pretty sure I've sent a friend request more than once to someone who's ignored me btw lmao.. not intentionally of course lol. I'm just a space cadet.

I've got a couple from HS that I have ignored. It's slightly awkward because there are only about 15 of us online and we're almost all mutual friends but when I check out 'mutual friends' on them, it's obvious we are all doing it. Only about 6 people are friends with all 15 of us, the rest of us are friends with 12 or 13.

I've got separate 'high school' and 'games' lists...ppl that I've added just for games have access to basically nothing, while ppl from HS have limited access. Basically some family, friends, and my scrappy peeps are the only ones who see everything (and I think ppl from the forum probably know me better than my family LOL).

Interesting... I had no idea you could set the limits on how much people can see about your status and stuff! I'll have to check that out!!

I don't think you have to worry about not accepting a friend request. I had a girl who I don't get along with OR like in any way keep sending me a friend request. It irked the crap out of me because I know she was doing it to look "popular", kwim? Finally I just blocked her. I don't want to see her every time I pop on there!!

I made a rule for HS classmates - if I've never in my entire life eaten a meal with you then I do not accept your facebook request...
