Another ACDSee question

I know...I keep coming back to this topic, sorry! But, I just bought it and installed it last night and so I'm wondering about organizing my stuff. How detailed do you get? One of the tutorials I read said to just tag your previews with the kit colors and others have said they tag everything by color.

And while I'm at it, one more question....what's your favorite feature on ACDSee?

think about how you scrap and how you look for stuff and try to tag like that

like do you tend to look for colors or specific patterns?

the good thing is that it is pretty easy to change tags so don't feel like you're locking yourself into any one way. i change stuff all the time.

hmm, fav feature . . . fast searching I guess

My system now is really detailed, that's how I started out but I'm figuring out that I can't keep up with the tagging that way, so I'm going to do some revising here soon!

My favorite feature... it's a toss up between fast searching and the brush viewer!

I'm a bit weird...I tag each item with designer, and a sub-category for kits (so I can find them fast)...I also tag by what each item is (ie...patterned papers, solid papers, cardboard, cardboard shapes/pieces, eyelets, brads, etc etc). I don't organize by color, though...gets too complicated for my brain.

I tag the elements by type (like "brads", "bling bling", "staples", "ribbons" with some detailed sub-categories for this one, etc.) and the papers once by color and once by pattern. Ditto to Mimi, though: tag the way you scrap, think how you will search for your elements and tag accordingly! HTH!

i've been trying to put the designer's name in the author field and the kit name in the caption field in the properties frame

so if I'm looking for a ribbon by Dani Mogstad I put in the quick search box
ribbons + dani mogstad

and then all my ribbons by dani mogstad appear (provided I have tagged them, which is the hard part)
