I saw this a week or two ago and just watched it over and over again. Made me tear up every single time. So sweet...

From the article about the reunion (after the lion being MIA for 9 months):

They flew to Nairobi then took a small plane to the camp in Kora, where Adamson came out to meet them.
"Christian arrived last night, " he said simply. "He's here with his lionesses and his cubs. He's outside the camp on his favourite rock. He's waiting for you."
Adamson and his wife Joy often talked about the mysterious, apparently telepathic communication skills of lions - particularly between lions and men.
Both believed that lions were possessed of a sixth sense and George was convinced that a scientific explanation would one day be found.

CRAZY!!

Awww...that's so sweet and touching! I'm so glad they made the decision to put him back into the wild where he belongs.

I wish they would do the same to the chimp that was taught sign language a while back. It was on the discovery channel (I think), there was a guy teaching the chimp as part of this program. They communicated through signing and when funding ran out for the study, the chimp went to a lab and the trainer parted ways. So many years later, he visited the chimp in the lab.

It was so sad b/c he was in a cage. When he saw the guy, he recognized him right away and started signing with his hands. They were able to "talk" for a few and the chimp wanted to get out of the lab. Then it was time to go and it was so sad to see the look on the chimp and trainer's faces. Ugh, so heartwrenching!
