To me, it looks like they totally got caught doin' it in the photog's studio and made a deal that if she was allowed to take their picture for her own nefarious purposes that she wouldn't have them arrested for b & e.
I love how they're not looking at each other, but both at something on the floor in front of them. Maybe the photog wanted it ultraealistic and they are watching some 11 o'clock news while they fake-ulate?!
