Always, Always, ALWAYS...

Before you go somewhere you KNOW you're going to be taking photos...ALWAYS make sure you have fresh batteries in your camera, lol. Seriously.

We took the kids to Monster Jam today and got passes for the Pit Party where they had the monster trucks sitting out and the drivers signing autographs. ANYWAY, we got there early for the Pit Party...I took like THREE pictures, and my camera shut off. I managed to squeak out a few more pics, but didn't take any during the actual event, or of the kids getting autographs or actually very many of the kids, lol.

Oh well...the kids had a TOTAL blast (except Natalie...she was upset that Monster Mutt Dalmation made as much noise as the "boy" trucks and started bawling almost immediately - even with her earplugs in, lol).

Today's show was SO fun and awesome but Trev and I totally want to get tickets to the championship in Vegas next month, lol...it would be SOOO much awesomer in a bigger arena and with a livelier crowd for sure... :D
 
To add to this... ALWAYS check your camera to make sure the memory card is in it! We had a zoo sleepover and I actually made sure to bring an extra battery in my backpack...but when I went to take my first pic...my camera said"No CF card". I was so sad.

Sounds like the Monster Jam was a success! Glad you guys had fun.
 
About a week ago I went to my mom's work farewell a good 35 minutes away and forgot the memory card - I didn't realise it until I went to take the first picture but right away I knew exactly where the card was, in the card reader of my laptop

LOL...reminds me of my bridal shower...my mom sat there ALL night snapping away and at the end of the night realized there was no FILM in the camera! She assumed my dad had put one in there, and my dad assumed that she had...oops! We still tease her about it, lol...

I thought I was *so* prepared though today...I even knew that I was running out of room on my memory card, so I backed it up on my computer (it's a 2GB and was nearly full - it took like an hour to put onto my computer, lol) and erased it...and even remembered to put it BACK in my camera, lol. I almost forgot the camera in the van...we started walking away and DH was like "are you SURE you have everything..." doh! :D
 
AAAARGH! don't you hate it! I worry about having batteries in my purse though, can't you just see them making contact with a coin or something and before you know it, your purse is on fire! LOL!

ANyway, I am glad you were able to get a couple of pics. Such a bummer, I totally feel your pain!
 
reminds me of when we took my son to a wiggles show...got all the way there and i didn't have my flashcard...i almost cried...my son even got to shake hands with anthony wiggle and i didn't get one picture...
 
oh yes, that has happened to us before... only our camera is rechargeable, so now we plug it in the night before we go anywhere.

Glad you had a blast!
