Alphabet photography

Oh I meant to share this last week!!! *duh*

Last weekend we had a big home and garden show in our town and there was a man there selling (what I later found out through google) framed art called alphabet photography. Here is a website (it's not the guy) that can explain it better then me

alphabet photography

I didn't even ask his prices because I immediately thought, "I can do that myself" :p but I thought I'd share with you all because I think it ROCKS and I'm planning on doing it for my mom, MIL, sister and SIL for Christmas!!!

That's an assignment in my photography class.
You guys should try it yourselves... you'll start seeing things in entirely new ways.

Also... we like to play, find the heart in shadows, shapes, negative space, etc.

Also a fun thing to try is find letters in your kids' names in vintage signs around town and start snapping pics of the letters, then mix and match, print and hang.

Like there's an old old Safeway in town, and I took a pic of the "e" to go in Phineas.

I wonder if this is the same guy that was down here at an art show Mother's Day weekend. It looks just like what my cousin bought there.

So cool...I totally thought...I can do that!

I love these too! Makes ya wonder how long it would take to go around the city and finding these shapes/shadows and what not. I love the idea and wish I had the time to do it!

For some reason I am obsessed with alphabet stuff (abc books, things with the abc's on it). That site is neat! I have done something similar a few years ago but with alphabet I found out in nature on my many hiking/camping trips. I haven't put the photos together to spell anything yet tho.. I should dig those out.

this is awesome -- maybe I can do our last name to go over our bed ... i've been trying to think of something to go there.
