Alpha Advice for Hybrid Project :)

Hello my gorgeous hybrid ladies!

I need a bit of advice for a project I'm doing. I recently bought a scrap organizer from Kaiser Craft and I'm thinking of putting my name on the front bottom panel. I want to go for a bit of a 3-D effect, so I'm thinking of using glue dots or mount dots for adhesive, but I'm torn whether I should buy some naked chipboard alpha and cover with paper, or I print alpha onto cardstock and stick that on instead.

I'd want to go for a little 3D, but not enough that the alpha might get destroyed over time, since apart from the decoupage finish, it's not really going to have any other protection. What do you ladies think? :) It's my first off-the-page hybrid attempt, plus it's also my birthday gift to myself so I'd really want this too look nice. :D

I'd also go for chipboard but I'd buy something already done like Thickers...their glittery ones are great. Also make sure you use a STRONG glue to attach them like Glossy Accents or Diamond Glaze. Have fun :)
 
Ugh, that organizer is friggen ADORABLE! I love Kaiser Kraft, I wish it was more readily available here in the US.

Yea, American Crafts "Thickers" line are fantastical. I love them. I would either use those, or get some naked chipboard and decorate it with coordinating paper. I also would attach them AFTER you decoupage the rest of the piece to seal it. The decoupage will probably get stuck in crevices and stuff around the letters and it won't look that great.
 
Chipboard vote from me too. Also if the letters you buy are already sticky I would still glue them on (I use glossy accents) as they tend to drop off. American Crafts being the exception I find.
 
Ladies, thanks so much!! I'm planning a shopping trip tomorrow to pick up some alpha at our local scrapbook store. I'm also gonna pick up a couple more Kaiser craft projects. They totally rock!!

I'll show off my finished product by Sunday, hopefully. ;)
