Algebra Help

NM - I figured it out. I was right. 64 cars.

So, I haven't taken Algebra since 1978 and Michael hasn't since 1976 and we are stumped. The answer key says one thing, and Melissa was marked wrong on her test for it.

"The ratio of cars to semis is 8:3. If there were 24 semis at the rest stop, how many cars were there?"

We have three different answers, and none match the answer key. Help!

Simple, right?

With you giving the answer I am able to backtrack and see how to solve it.

Now regular math, the way it's done today where you don't carry the 1 ... nope!

LOL! My youngest loves math. I'm totally not a math person, so whenever I have a question, I ask him!
