I need some help girls - some thoughts, ideas or suggestions.
I am having a h-e-double hockeysticks of a time getting my DS to use the toilet on a consistent basis. He turned 3yrs. at the beginning of March.
Now let me tell you, he's one smart boy. He knows EXACTLY what's going on and what is expected of him. He goes to preschool and knows that there are no "accidents" at preschool. But as soon as he comes home...it's fair game!
Pee is not so bad, but poop?! OMG I am so sick of rinsing out poopy gotch!
I have tried EVERYTHING! And I mean everything. I've tried rewards and all the hoopla, I've tried firm. I've tried using a timer. I've tried giving up and hoping that it'll just click. I've tried making him clean up his own poop - out of his gotch, wiping his own bum, picking up any poop that lands on the floors. I've tried taking away prized possessions - which really he doesn't have anything in particular.
Nothing, NOTHING phases this kid.
I do not want to be one of those parents that has one set of rules for one thing/or one place, and a different set of rules for home. For example, gotch at school, diapers at home. KWIM?
But I am right out of ideas here. This is not something I've experienced as a child care provider, or with my own girls.
I know that this is probably normal and I know that he won't go to kindergarten in diapers, but I need something to go on here.
