...another compilation project. This time it features acoustic covers of well-known songs.

This one was really tricky to finish, because there are so many acoustic covers out there, in so many different styles, that it was really hard to find a criterion of selection that wouldn't make the CD sound totally random. I kept giving up and coming back to the project, but all my concepts were too restrictive and as such, contra-productive.

Originally, it was going to be a 2CD, with the second CD featuring acoustic versions of songs sung by the original singers of the songs... At another time the second CD was supposed to feature the original versions from the songs featured on the first CD (and both CD1 and CD2 were supposed to work as a united whole, style-wise)...

Finally I gave up and chose the lack of concept as the method. It worked! I did the selection with 2 friends of mine, and we just chose what we liked... and I put the songs in alphabetical order because I got used to them like that.

Tradaaaaaa!

Volume 2 is in the making, with no deadline whatsoever. :-D

It was Mandy's Umbrella and Milow's Ayo Technology that inspired me to start this compilation. Some songs really get better when stripped of the original balast. That said, I started to like Rihanna's song (and Rihanna as such) after I fell in love with Mandy's version. The ways of music preferences are curious.

Haha, I don't think the music industry would have the patience to wait two years for one compilation to be finished. I also suspect they would talk into things too much for my liking. Still I would probably swoon if ever I got to making a "real" CD. And what a sweet compliment, thank you!
