Adobe prices

I have the Adobe Photography plan. I just got billed/charged today and it was for $14.99. It had been $9.99. I looked through my emails and don't see where they notified me that it would be changing.

Did your bill go up? Were you notified ahead of time?

Last time mine was deducted it was $9.99. $14.99 seems expensive! I don't use the program that often ... but it's such a GOOD program ... oh, the dilemma!!

Whenever they raise my price (I'm yearly but pay monthly), I contact them and get a discount. Has worked for me several years. I'm on the all apps plan though.

My next billing is still the $9.99 price. I enrolled in the annual plan billed monthly. I signed up in April so evidently my price won't increase until then.

I don't remember the last time I even used Lightroom so I should just cancel it. If I do decide I want Lightroom again, they do have a plan just for Lightroom that is $11.99 a month (increased from $9.99).

I can't remember if it was an email or I read an article on Google, but it was about a month ago. It's not a huge price increase for me given how much I use it.

I think it bothers me as much as it does because there was no direct notification of the change. I don't frequent their website and articles about it never crossed my path. I'm used to companies alerting customers to price changes.

I have the yearly plan, paid monthly, Photography Plan (20GB) which my account page says they have stopped offering. And if I decide to cancel, I will not be able to resubscribe to that plan. Which is, for now, $14.99. Not that I was planning on canceling. When I look at their products page, the Photography (1TB) plan shows that it is normally $19.99 and has a 6 month discount putting it at $14.98 for the 6 months. A full year up front is $239.88.

The only thing I actually use is Photoshop. Not the storage or Lightroom. If the price goes up again, I'll see if any other option with Photoshop is less expensive. There isn't right now.

I would recommend going to chat support on the website and explaining the situation - especially since you weren't given notice. You should be able to lock in to the annual plan that doesn't have the increase, especially since you were paying annually before.

The whole subscription model frustrates me however many years later.. I use the whole suite so I pay for that but I rarely update to the latest version.. ARGH.

They always have a sale on black friday but I think it might just be for the creative suite, not the photography plan

YES! I was taken by surprise as well. To be fair, I've been at the $9.99 price for a looooong time and $15 a month is probably still a good deal - but I would have liked some notice.

The worst part is that even though I know there are alternatives out there I'm going to keep paying Adobe because it's what I know and have used for decades. If I quit the subscription there's a good chance that I won't be scrapbooking anymore.

I had to go look - still $13.64 for me for the photography plan (Canadian $), has been for 4 years. Annual plan paid monthly.

I have a full CC subscription at work, I wish I could just install that on my home computer lol

Interesting. I also have the photography plan and my account still shows my rate as $9.99 (plus tax)/month - even for future months. I have Photoshop, LR, LR Classic, 20GB storage, Bridge, and a bunch of other stuff I don't use. When I look at plan pricing that is offered to me, $14.99/month is for the photography plan that includes 1TB of storage. I've been a subscriber for a long time, so it's possible I was grandfathered into a lower rate.

I have the same plan and thought I was grandfathered in as well. I've been hesitant to cancel during lulls when I don't use it as much because I knew when I started back it would jack my prices up.

But then This month... BAM $15

I do now have the option to pay for a year upfront and lock in the same effective $10 rate but I am going to have to wait for taxes if I want to go that route

Booo, that stinks! I just did some digging and I think it's because I use the education pricing plan (they no longer offer the specific plan I'm on). I'm also on the "annual plan, paid monthly" <<< which to be honest, doesn't totally make sense :p:D

If you have an annual plan (paid onthly) but then cancel before it ends, they send you a bill/payment owed

This is disappointing. I feel like I could switch to PSE for scrapping but I would really miss Lightroom.

I pay almost $30.00 every month for it...

That makes sense. I was looking at the educational pricing, but the qualifications are that you need to be 13+ and enrolled in school, so my kiddos don't qualify yet. mwa mwa mwa

I'm thinking that the price increase for this plan will go into effect when the year of payments is done. For me that will be April.

Like KristinCB said, if you cancel before the end of your annual plan, you will get a bill for what you owed. So even then they are expecting you to pay the price you "contracted" with them for that year.

In other words, my annual plan cost of $9.99 started last April so I'm locked into that price for the year. Once a new annual plan year starts, then the annual plan-pay monthly fee will go to $14.99.

I do this, too! This last renewal I just threatened to cancel and they were like "okay, okay... hold on..."

I totally don't remember signing up for that payment plan, but clearly I did! :D

My husband is an educator, so I was able to qualify through him  ... though it doesn't look like for the plan I have, they offer any better pricing (at least not right now!)

Agreed! That's what's in their FAQs too: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/faq/ccpp-20gb.html

I haven't seen anything about an increase. In general, I'm just annoyed by the whole situation. I feel like Photoshop is necessary for me, but I miss the days when I could just purchase the program and own it. I also want Illustrator, but that would make my plan spike up quite a bit, so for now I am holding off.
