ACDSee question.....

Have any of you had an issue with ACDSee where if you try to open a folder in the program it makes the whole program shut down? I've had it happen when I try to open an alpha folder in some kits but I usually redownload and it opens it just fine. This time around I tried to open an entire kit folder and it caused the program to shut down. Any ideas of what is going on?

Hmmm....I've never had that happen but I have read (here and other places) that ACDSee can get finicky if folder names are too long and will cause the program to freeze and or shut down. Maybe check to see if the name of the folder might be too long???

Yeah if the file name is too long, ACDSee has issues. All of your folder names count toward the file name length so if it's buried in a bunch folders, it can get too long quickly. That's probably why it happens with alphas more often and why redownloading it might fix it.

Have you tried moving the file to the desktop and opening it within ACDSee?

I had no idea about the file name. Its a collab kit too so that is probably the reason why. Thanks girls!
