ACDSee..best deal

Bree is done for me too! Lol! Select all, check templates and Bree Clarkson, apply to all files and folders. Done and done. :)

The one I'm really worried about tagging at this point is Traci. 5GB!!

Ok...here is a shot of what Col is talking about:

The arrow is pointing to the check boxes under the properties. Or conversely, you could look at it from the tag view and do the same thing:

HTH~

And I agree with the others, the best way to start is by tagging the new stuff as you buy it. Then, as I use older stuff (after I've gone searching for it), I tag everything in the kit/element folder.

See...I knew sticking to one product would pay off! Woot...I'm easy for customers to tag! :D

Melissa!!!

Can you please post the rest of your element categories from Pebbles on. Yours is set up so nicely! I'm just getting started and still trying to figure out categories.

Paper is my biggest challenge though, anyone care to share how they tag paper?

I'll edit this when I get home in a few hours to my exact tags. But my papers all get tagged paper, and then the specific sub category.

I have solid, striped, distressed, circles/dots (like polka dots, or big random circles), squares, flowers (including vines), stars, plaid, words/notepaper/graph paper (grids go in here, not in square, don't ask why cuz I don't know :p) and a misc for random themed shapes on paper. I know there's more......that's all I can think of though.

I also sort everything by color, for those times I'm looking for a specfic color ribbon/paper/whatever.

No problems! I'm supposed to be reviewing Capital Expenditure Input Schedules right now...but that's just a little boring ;)

Here are the rest of the elements:

I organize my papers by colors. I used to have tags for solids/stripes/patterened and also for textures like cardboard/denim/glitter but I found I don't search for papers that way...I usually just search by color.

I also think it's time to go through my elements categories again and make changes for things I don't use (like the Pebbles) and to maybe expand on some others (like frames). It's definately a fluid exercise.

Melissa, yours looks so pretty, why doesn't mine look like that? Maybe I need to look at it again and see if it does. LOL :)

I have frames broken into categories. I also have a fasteners category for things like brads, eyelets. A clips category for bull clips, paper clips, binder clips. Etc etc.

You definitely customize it as you go. :)

What do you guys do for multi colored papers? I mean like, more than 2-3 colors? do you put it in all of the colors categories? Or have a multi-colored? I think I do both. But if I am looking for a blue paper, chances are that I don't want 5 other colors on it (unless it coordinates anyway...)

I have a multi category for those with more than 2 colors.
If it's just 2, sometimes 3, I'll put it in all the categories.

Although for something like a pink button with black marker doodles, it'd just get pink, and not black.

I don't tag ANYTHING by color. Not even papers. *gasp* I don't scrap by color, and it takes soooooooooooo long to tag by color that if you really are not going to use that system, it's a huge waste.

I do the same with fasteners in that I rarely use any kind of fastener but staples and stitches, so while staples and stitches have their own separate category, everything else like buttons, photo prongs, etc. are just lumped together in a generic fasteners category.

I'm posting this in case there are any other 'weirdos' out there who scrap like me so I can save them some potential grief from categorizing more than they need to. :)

Holy moly, woman! That would drive me crazy!

I must admit that it would save me SOOOOOOOO much freakin' time if I did it your way, though...

LOL! Thanks for the enlightenment LA ;) :)

I'm THAT OCD about tagging (even though I don't tag enough, it's all in my head), that if I were to look for a blue button it would drive me insane to have to look through all the other colors.

I don't TOTALLY scrap by color, but definitely do it enough to make it worthwhile. But you're definitely right in that if you've never scrapped by color it's a waste of time.

well i decided this morning that i have to have this software. lol so me being the bargin shopper, 40 percent wasnt good enough for me and i found this....It Works too!!!!

ACDSee 10 Photo Manager seemed to be popular with my friends. (Photo gallery viewer / picture manager / simple photo editor.) I started a 30 day trial, which is coming to an end. I went to their website to see how much it would cost me, and I found that they're running a 40% off special. (Normally $50, now $30.)

Of course, being a Slickdealer, that wasn't enough for me. So I went searching for an additional coupon code at checkout. Yup. 20% off of $30 with coupon code "10PM20". Remove the download service from the card, and the final price is $24 to register. Basically, half off the normal price.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I just bought my copy for $23.99!!!

Actually, you can save a backup to a CD yourself and save that 5-6 bucks. :)

Thanks for the tip I just burned it to DVD before I installed it and saved myself $6 bucks!!!

LA is soooo right! Tagging by color can be a HUGE PITA if you don't scrap that way.

I used to have my embellies tagged by color too. Then I realized that most of the time I'm not looking for a blue button or a red flower. I want to look at all my Buttons or all my flowers Flowers. So I took the color tags off the embellies. I just use color for the papers - because that's how I roll LOL!

Someone else asked about stripes or multi-colored paper. I tag my striped paper with {GASP} Stripes :D If the paper has 2 colors, I might tag both colors, but usually not. I usually tag it with the predominant color. If I can't figure out what the predominant color is, then I use another really useful category: Multi :D I know...very original ;)

I'd rather spend the 6 bucks and not have to worry abt having the CD on hand. I'd do the same with Photoshop if they'd let me! :)
