AAAKKKKK!

My turkey is still frozen solid!! I have it sitting out of the fridge here for a while, and then i'll probably try the cold water method...

goodness gracious - panic attack time!

Oh, gosh!!! I have never bought a frozen turkey, but I've heard they can take a week to defrost!!!

I had the same problem two years ago so this year I paid extra $$ and got a fresh one so I wouldn't get stressed about it. The water solution did work for me two years ago, so hopefully that puppy is defrosted in time.

wanna use my roaster? I won't be using it....wait you are on the west coast so that won't work!

Good luck Shawna! I hope it defrosts fast for you!!

the cold water method should defrost it in about 8-10 hours. I'd do that and then pop it into the refrigerator until tomorrow.

Mine is still frozen after 3 days in the fridge, so I'm about to pop it in a cooler full of water to finish it off. It's inevitable, this happens to me I swear every other year lol

Yep. I think you need wine!

I host every year but lucky for me, my dad fries the turkey so I don't have to deal with any of that mess.

Thanks ladies hugs and advice totally appreciated!! I was just reading about using a brine to encourage defrosting so I think I'll try that route - AND thank goodness someone close by has an electric roaster - other wise I might have had to drive across the country to get your ERIN!

You can also use a large cooler if you have one, or try this quick thawing method in a 5 gal bucket in the shower. You can do it today! It takes about 6 hrs from hard frozen. It does work - we've tried it!

(I wouldn't cook a frozen turkey, even if TLC says it's safe. There's a zone there tha I wouldn't feel comfortable with, and then you end up overcooking to make up).

Good luck, Shawna! I've used the water method on a frozen turkey breast that was taking too long to defrost, and it worked pretty quickly.

mine was frozen in a deep freeze super solid freeze until Monday. I ended up soaking it in ice water for about 6-7 hours, and we're good to go now.

Darcy, love the cooler idea - I hadn't thought of that before!

Mine has been thawing since Sunday in my fridge. I took it out a little while ago, still frozen solid, and have it in a water bath now. Hope it thaws out soon!

I realized at 3:30 this morning that I'd forgotten to take the turkey breast out of the freezer, so when I got up I immediately popped it into a roasting pan full of cold water. It was thawed out in about 6 hours.

This year we/my husband decided to buy a Boston Market Turkey feast, all premade and precooked. All we have to do is stick the turkey in the oven for 90 minutes, and warm the other stuff up in the microwave. Otherwise I would have bought a brined unfrozen turkey at Trader Joes. We spent about the same or less on the food, too.

Yup, in the past I've consistently used the water defrosting method. More than once, tho, I've forgotten to remove the giblets packet! (Oops)

mine is perfectly thawed this morning! it's sitting out to come to temperature for a few minutes before I stuff it in the oven :)
