A Week in the Life 2012

Who's doing it next week (April 23-April 29) with Ali Edwards? I saw Lynnette's super awesome album templates that are currently in the shoppe and decided that I HAD to do it... :)

But it's just my husband and I. I work, he's busy farming, and I think our book would be pretty boring. But I'm still thinking I want to do it. I'm already doing a 365 so I take lots of pictures everyday. Oh and I think Shutterfly is offering a 50% off coupon on 12x12 photobooks until May 2nd. I think it's a sign. Plus, we are only going to be in this stage of our life for a little while. It would be pretty cool to look back at in 15 years.

Anyone want to join me?

I've done it the two years... it's one of my favorite projects!! I'm so excited to do it again this year - I've already warned the family.... haha...

yeah - I'll doing the same week at Ali is... I had thought of doing it this week mostly because my son's typical classes are all going on this week, but now my hubby has a business trip this week... :) I hope I can keep up scrapping it - that is always my challenge... haha

I didn't know that Ali's was next week. I had already planned on doing it next week... but then I wasn't sure because we're going out of town to the hospital to visit my grandfather, and I don't know if it will work out to take the camera.

I've got to figure out what I'm doing.

I didn't realize it was coming up now. Hmm...I've never done it before, but I may take the plunge this year. If I do, I'm going to do it during the official week. Doing it along with everyone else here is the only way I'll stick with it. It's actually a good week for me because there's nothing special going on, and if I do it I want to document a normal week.

I'm in, but I'm doing it paper... Ordered my stuff last night.

Loved doing December Daily last year, and am so excited to try my hand at WITL... (We were in the middle of moving during last year's week...)

I always 'want' to do the cool projects, but get 1/4 to 1/2 way in & lose interest, time, mojo....

so they sit unfinished... I have AWITL from July that's part done, part of a Dec Daily from 2010 & 2011, P365 first 3 weeks from 2011 ...

I'll drool over all of yours and maybe someday, I'll get a finished project. lol

Marla, I did it last year and it's just my husband and I too! :) There's lots of things you can photograph (I think there's a thread where people tossed in lots of ideas). I had fun with mine, but this year I definitely want to keep it simpler.

This was my album last year in case you wanna take a look :)

not sure I would do it this time around since its just me at home for a month starting 4/20 but would love to capture a week at uni at some point before mid june

I have been thinking of doing it this week, starting tomorrow.....but I still in doubt. I have a week off this week, so it would be nice to document a week together with Eric.

i'm going to try to do it :) i looooooved lynnette's album last year - so i am totally taking inspiration from that (i.e., trying to make mine look as much like hers as possible LOL!) and jumping in ... it's not the best week for me next week, but if i wait for the 'best' week i'll never do it ... soooooooo ....

Me ... I'm going to do it. Although I am rubbish at remembering to take the photographs - pretty essential stuff huh? That week includes a weekend away for me with a bunch of crafty friends doing crafty stuff so it should be good

I'm doing it. Extra inspiration to get my house organized and clean this week so it looks good in photos, lol. This is the first year that my husband and I have been in the same area the time it is going on, so I'm excited.

I didn't realize it was coming up so I'm glad you posted this. I've never done it but I think it would make a great album. I'll think I'll have to give it a try.

I'm going to try. I failed again this year at any kind of photo project by not even starting, so I'm really looking forward to this! I've never done AWITL before.

I didn't know it was coming up already. I did it last year, but wasn't completely happy with the format I used. I did 8.5 x 11 and it's the only thing I have in that size. I need to look at Lynnett'e templates and make a decision on how I'm going to do it.

I've never tried any of them for exactly that reason...I know I'll never follow through for an entire month or year, partly because I'm too slow a scrapper and will lose interest trying to finish that many pages. But I think I can handle a week. I plan to just photograph and write the journaling that week, then scrap them over the next month.

I really love the look of Marla's Project 365, using a different kit for each page with kraft paper to unify them. I think being able to play with a different kit for each day's pages will help me not get bored.

I love that, too!

That's what I do with my Project Life pages...a different kit each week. I purchased the Project Life kit and used it the first week and then got so bored with it! I love the chance to explore different kits and use them in these pages.

I would definitely have to get my house cleaned and organized before trying such a project. LOL That was my first thought.

Projects like this are neat but I get wrapped up in them and then get burned out and stop taking pictures of important events. I did a photo challenge last summer and after like a week I was DONE and I didn't take any more pictures for almost a month.

Your book is totally awesome! I love the little details you captured. :)

Woohoo, excited to see so many excited about this project! I'm not going to lie - it was a lot of work as pretty much any Ali Edwards inspired project seems to be, haha - but I LOVED the outcome and it made all the time and effort totally worth it. Seriously it's one of my absolute favorite scrapbooking projects I've ever done.

I haven't decided whether I want to do it again this year only because it doesn't seem like it's really been that long and since it's just the hubs and I, our life isn't really that different from last July. And considering we live in Texas, the weather between April and July isn't all that different either - just less hot. :D

So I don't know. I'm thinking if I were to do it again, I'd do something smaller, maybe even with Instagram photos or something. I'm going to play around with it this week and see.

One thing I do recommend is go into the collection week with an idea of your desired outcome for album - design, size, style, etc. Makes it much easier to know what types of photos, etc you need to capture.

Just wanted to say that it's just my DH and I here as well and at the time he was working long hours (sometimes from 4:30am to 6pm) so I was worried it'd be kind of boring as well. One thing I found really helpful was I broke up my days into sections (morning, mid-morning, afternoon, evening, nighttime, etc) and then just focused on capturing a couple of those sections each day, usually one when it was just me and one when we were both here and more on the weekends when we did more stuff. I definitely felt like it helped keep it from getting too monotonous and since the project spans the entire week, you still get an idea of what we do everyday.

If you haven't seen my album from last year you can see the digital pages here and the printed Blurb book here.

I REALLY want to try and get this done this year. I think it'll be awesome to do with a newborn, even though he's mostly just a little sack of potatoes. Mostly because it'll be such an awesome contrast to do again sometime next year. Even if it's just a few photos a day and a single page, I want to do SOMETHING. Lynnette's templates are tempting me, as always, lol.

Do it. Do it. Do it. This project would be amazing to capture your unique time if you can pull it off and find time.

A P365 or P52 is just too much. I lose interest in making photos and make sure it's not dull. But 7 days seems to be something we can overcome. And I am following Lynnette's steps of the morning afternoon evening routine. And stay simple. And I blogged about it so that I have to finish hahaha. Lynnette's album is my red wire this week. And I told Eric to help me as I want to be in the photos aswell. And in a few years it seems special to see myself with my pregnant belly in the album.

So I am in....and going for it. I am just doing it a week earlier than Ali. Are we creating a special thread for it?

I might do it? My in-laws will be in town until the 26th so that will make things a bit different.

I did it last year - but never got the album put together. I have all the pics - kept notes but once we moved in november I threw the notes away. I need something on my computer for taking notes because having something on the table just doesn't work for me. It just gets added to my piles! LOL :D

I might attempt this. My kids were JUST THIS MORNING reading their photobooks again. They do it all the time. They love looking back at pictures. I think they would really enjoy something like this. I just don't know. I almost bought Lynette's templates yesterday, before I had even heard of this. I just figured they would be great for capturing some of the every day stuff I forget about, not so much a concentrated 'true' week in the life project.
