it goes over. i will change it if it's not over, even if i do not know you and am at your house :p

Definitely. And if I ever absolutely HAVE to use a public restroom (which must be a complete emergency because I do not like them at ALL), and it can be changed, I will change it there as well.

You guys are going to think I'm such a slacker after the christmas tree admission last week, but I'm lucky if the roll is actually ON the holder. Most of the time it's just sitting on the counter next to the potty.

over in our house..that goes for the paper towels too.
You pull it toward you so I have always figured it should hang down closest to ya.

Over all they way ... I HATE trying to find the beginning of the roll under or behind the roll of paper. End up getting it all over a dirty floor and then I am supposed to use it?!? YUCK. You asked to elaborate ... ;)

But, if it's over, the kids call roll out the whole roll by just flipping it with their hand. LOL!

I do it over too, and since I'm the only one in my house who ever changes the toilet paper rolls, them my way is the right way. :)

That's why we squish our roll before putting it on..that way it has that little whomp whomp whomp when you unroll it so our 6yo doesn't unroll it..no matter which way it's put on.

My peeve..even bigger than those not putting it over...are those who don't put it on a roll at all. I hate community TP on the back of the tank or in a basket. It's a weirdness I have...I hate it.

Over...although right now we don't put any of ours on the holder b/c if I do Avery will unroll every drop of it onto the bathroom floor..he does it every time. In fact my MIL was keeping him one day and she put a new roll on the holder at some point during the day and when I got home she told me she realized now why my toilet paper was never on the holder lol. I mean he will unroll a FULL roll until there is a mountain in the middle of the floor..and it doesn't matter how much trouble he gets in..he'll do it again. I think it's just too much temptation for one little boy to handle :)

I may have to try the squishing thing though :)

If we don't place it on the holder it invariablly gets dropped in the toilet. Happened again just yesterday. Good times.....

I'm an odd ball I guess, for me it's under

I reckon the rest of 'em are the oddballs :D Under, all the way here!

We don't put our upstairs one on the holder cos DS (19mths) stands there and unravels it til it's all gone, so it's kept out of his reach. And when I pick it up, the end has to be facing to the right...DH keeps putting it down backwards and it drives me nuts :D :D

Definitely under! This was an issue in our house until I hid the rollers. Now the TP sits on the counter.

I put it over because DH likes it that way- I actually just put a new one on going under to see what he'd do and he didn't notice yet! lol! But I think he only goes #2 in the downstairs bathroom so he wouldn't notice the tp in the upstairs one. lol.

LOL Definitely over here. A couple of years ago I thought I was losing my mind, because every single time I would go in the bathroom it was under so i'd change it back to over. Come to find out DF was messing with my head. He kept changing it back to under just mess with me...such a brat!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I'm loving these answers. You would not BELIEVE the of the discussion we've had about this. BTW, I say under, and I'm not budging. LOL

well, my toilet paper holder is missing the tube thingy in the middle so the tp sits on my sink. but i voted under. but then again i don't really care, lol.

Over...but I can actually remember my mother teaching me that was the "proper" way to hang it. Never under! Ha, ha, ha.

Doesn't it have something to do with stopping it from unrolling?

Now you've got me questioning why?

hahaha those videos are great. I am an over, maybe its because I like to it on top for total control ;)

What, there's no option for on the floor? That's where it ends up in our house. So I guess as long as it is on a holder it's a bonus, and any way will do;)

My youngest can't reach the holder from the toilet, so she always puts in on the floor. Then she goes in the cupboard and gets the new rolls and builds a tower. To be honest though, I've never really given the over/under thing any thought.

where is the other option?

i really don't care. neither one of us does. so it's whichever way.

i'm just thankful it's changed when empty. :)
