A story done on me on the news

Oh I'm so sorry Alisa. I had the same thing done with a wound. Absolutely positively no fun. Hope your son is feeling better. Hoping and praying you get power back on soon!

This is terrible! :( I'm sorry you're going through this and I hope you'll get power back very soon and your boy's lips will heal soon too!

That's terrible! I'm so sorry you and your family are still living in limbo. I hope your little guy wasn't too traumatized by his experience in the ER and that his lip heals quickly. Sending lots of positive thoughts that they get your power back on ASAP and you can go back home.

I noticed the reporter said that she was reporting from East Meadow. Is that where you live or your parents? My grandparents lived there (on Luddington Road) for more than 50 years until they moved into a nursing home about 2 years ago. It's hard to picture that neighborhood so devastated. :(

So sorry to hear this - and I hope your power returns soon. I am from a small town in Ontario Canada - some of our men are down your way trying to help out.

I'll keep praying for you Alisa. I can't even begin to imagine how hard this must be on you and yours.

so sorry this is still going on for you. It is unacceptable that they haven't restored your power and saying it wont be until thanksgiving. REEEE-DICULOUS.

And im so sorry about your son. Poor baby. :( Hope his lip doesnt get more infected and heals soon.

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way. I hope your son's lip heals cleanly and quickly, poor kid. Having a swollen, painful lip is no fun. I know YOU think you looked like a mess but you and your family are looking fine (if frazzled by the situation). I hope you do get power back before Thanksgiving, esp with those temperatures happening.

The worst natural disaster I ever experienced was the Blizzard of '78; we were without power for about a week back then. That's nothing compared to what you're experiencing. Stay warm as you can.

this is awful. The longest we went without power in 2004 was 2 weeks I think?? It was August in Florida so it was pretty awful but we had plenty of gas and could go for a ride to cool off. It must be even harder from what I have been told about the gas situation up there and the fact you have snow too? I know the power company told us the power is restored in a priority basis meaning that places like hospitals are restored before homes...but still it is frustrating waiting and freezing with no answers Im sure. I hope by the time I replied to this you have your power back on at least
