A really bad day turned into a GREAT b-day! :)

Yesterday was my birthday- 31 which means I'm officially "in my thirties" (I counted 30 as the end of my twenties!) Anyway, I woke up with a headache, my 3 year old dd who never wets the bed woke up soaked and it was raining. Yuck.

I get to school and start working and the rain slows, but by the time I go to get my class off the bus, it is POURING! Even with a raincoat and umbrella, I end up soaking wet from mid-thigh down to my shoes. I end up teaching two classes of 3 to 5 year olds soaking wet. One kiddo is having a hard day and screams for the entire 2 hours (great for a headache), one inadvertently punches me in the eye with his rock for show-and-tell, just one of many loud moments... Then I have duty outside and enjoy the madness as everyone and their dog tries to pick up their kids while we all get soaked.

I get home and dh says "Dinner and a movie or just dinner?" I feel and look like crap, but decide dropping the kids at grandma's for a few hours is worth the effort, so I get a quick shower, get dressed and don;t bother fixing my hair (still raining). We go to alamo drafthouse- a really fun dinner and movie place with great drinks, etc. that I've not been to in a long time.

Brian left his phone in the car and runs out to get it. When he comes back he has a card for me. It says all the right things and is really touching- then a see a disc and when I go to look- its CS3. I've been thinking about upgrading for awhile, but didn't want to spend the $, so when dh found a great deal, he got it. Then he pops out a box, and inside are diamond stud earrings. I was SO surprised by everything and so it really turned my day around.

Just had to share- what started as a vent ended up as good day.

I am so glad your day turned around for you...sounds like an amazing surprise! Happy Birthday!!! :)

Sounds like DH made up for a cruddy day :) Hope you had a fantastic bday..and for what it's worth my 30's (i've only been in them 2 years haha) have been WAY better than my 20's ;)

awwwww....stephanie, i love it!!! your hubby saved the day!!! sooo happy it was super in the end and happy late birthday!!! sorry we missed it. :o

Yay for DH!! 30's aren't bad, you kinda know who you are now so that is nice. The little wrinkles not so much. But 'eh you got CS4 so you can edit them out!

WTG, Mr. Stephanie! and happy belated birthday!

Age is just a number, sweetie. the 30's are more fun - you know who you are. Just let a little more of you shine out, 'cause you are awesome!
