A question on gift certificate.

Hey girls.

I have a question on gift certificates. The thing is, some people keep giving me stuff for Christmas I really don't appreciate, as they have no idea what I'd really like. I thought that maybe this year I'd simply ask these people to buy me a 10 USD coupon here at SSD, and both sides would be happy.

Now to the question: Do you have to be a member at SSD to be able to buy a gift certificate for someone, or can anybody do it? From the form it seems to me that anybody can do it, but I thought I'd rather ask before sending out my "request" to my friends.

Thanks.

Anyone can do it! My sisters and friends have given them to me before. The only thing is it can't be time delayed - meaning as soon as they order it for you, it'll get delivered to your inbox. (Someone correct me though if that has been changed).

Yes, anyone can through the shoppe. They'll have to have your email address in order to be able to process it, so make sure they have yours :)

Cool. Thanks! Now let's hope at least some of them will do it and I'm going to be a very happy scrapper. :-)

Good to know. I've been trying to come up with a wish list of $10 and under. A SSD gift certificate would be the BEST $10 and under gift for me too.

Here's part two of my question. My friends were more than generous to me and now I have (yes!!!) 85 USD in certificates. :-)

What I want to ask is:

1. Can a certificate be split? If I have one for 20 USD, but buy stuff for only 8 USD, is it possible to use the rest another time, or should I save the certificates for bigger purchases only?

2. For how long is a gift certificate valid?

I am so excited for you that your friends/family were so accomodating to your wishes! LOL! I have put a SSD gift card on my birthday / mothers day / christmas wishlist for YEARS and no one every buys me one..... I think they all think I spend enough on digital scrap stuff without them enabling me further! :p

You can just enter the GC code, and the balance will just stay on your account for you to use at a later time.

I don't know of a GC expiring, I don't believe they do...hopefully someone else knows for sure. I've never had one unused long enough to find that out :D

Seriously! I think I would be downright giddy if someone would give me a SSD gift card. I keep asking and asking. It's like that ever elusive Barbie Camper that I asked for and never got.

Thanks for the quick reaction! :-)

I can see now I was very lucky to actually see some friends buying certificates for me! I simply sent out an email saying that if they planned to give me something and lacked ideas (I knew some were bound to be at loss as to what to give to me), I'd be more than happy to receive one. But I never expected to get that much.

I hope your friends/family will understand soon that this is what you really want and will encourage your scrapbooking!
