I am trying to get kinda a standard for my drop shadows.
Do you have "set" settings you use for certain objects
Care to share?
I am doing a scrapbook and would like to have some standards to make it easier and quicker
What settings do you use for shadows on
photos, paper strips, different layers of paper and other items?

Thanks for helping a girl out!

Well, I use CS3 and I have my opacity set at 75%. I change the distance and size depending on what it is and how far off the page I want it. I've also started playing with the color of my shadows too. I try and use a darker color from what will be under it if that makes any sense. LOL

If it's something like epoxy, then I drop the opacity to make it look more realistic.

I use pse 4, and for MOST things I use Traci Reed's Acrylic style (it came with one of her acrylic sets). For photos or paper, depending on the bg, I usually set it to 4 and then I simplify the layer. If you don't simplify, the color is kind of orange when you flatten your image. For heavier things, like buttons or alphas, I leave it at 14.

I never only use the drop shadow layer style. I have created an action based on the followign tuturial for custom drop shadows on a separate layer, simply because I like my shadow all the way around the photo instead of at an angle.

Then, if I want more distance, I'll add the layer style (make sure to lower the opacity) and also will edit>transform>warp (the corners) for just a bit more realism. See the following:

You can tell in the upper left corner that I have warped the shadow to give the appearance that the photo is lifting off the page. HTH
