What do you take as a meal?

Do you have a go-to meal to take? What would you make if for some reason you couldn't do your go-to?

My family's go to is Spaghetti Bake... we make it all the time when someone needs a meal - it makes a huge batch and freezes really well... it is one of my favorite dishes of all time!

6oz spaghetti
1/2 lb ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2tsp chili powder
16 oz can of creamed corn
1 can tomato soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup

8 kraft cheese singles - on top

Cook spaghetti, brown beef... mix all the ingrediants together and put into greased 9x13 dish, place cheese slices on top. bake covered 350 for 45 min.

I usually make a big pot of white chicken chili in my crockpot and just bring the whole thing over there if they're family or close friends (because then it won't be weird to go back and pick up my crock).

Another thing that is convenient is to make a large batch of taco meat then fill up baggies of tomatoes, lettuce, etc. Then on my way over I stop at the store and grab the tortillas, chips a bottle of salsa, cheese & sour cream.

I always just do rotel chicken and rice and a salad, but the couple asked for no spicy foods (and their definition of spicy and everyone else I know is different. lol They think everything is spicy) I had to google up some different chicken recipes and settled on honey mustard chicken with potatoes, carrots, and squash. And my house smells amazing. Totally making the pancakes that I have planned for tonight not nearly so appetizing.
(I'm having to eat the extra... you know, to make sure it tastes fine... and boy does it. lol)

I'd do 4 cheese stuffed shells, or manicotti. Pasta dishes aren't usually spicy. :) Glad you found what you could do.

We make 1-2 packets of those Rice or Pasta sides, depending on the family size, and I make some sort of cookies. Then, on the way to their house, we stop at the store and get 1-2 rotisserie chickens, a bag of salad and bottle of dressing, and some fresh fruit (watermelon if it's in season, otherwise something like grapes, oranges, etc). A lot of times I'll also make some muffins or get some bagels, so they have a little more "something" for the next day.

Ideally, yes, I'd make homemade dinner.... but our church is going through a "baby season" where it seems like everyone and their sister is popping one out, and this is the more convenient route for me.

I wish all of you were my neighbors! It all sounds soooo good!

My go to is Pulled Pork (just make it in the crock pot or in the smoker) with hamburger buns, BBQ beans, homemade pasta salad (can always be lunch the next day) a veggie (like a can of corn), strawberries and angel food cake. I take enough pork for a few days of dinners/lunches so they can freeze extra to have the next week (or if I'm on the ball I bring them a separate container to freeze for the next week).

i love doing a meatball pasta bake. i throw a bag of meatballs and a jar & a half of sauce into the crockpot, and cook it for like, 4 hours. then i cook a box of pasta, drain it. i dump the pasta into the crockpot (i have a big crockpot.. you can also dump the sauce/meatballs into the pot with the pasta), mix it all up. i then put that all in a foil pan and bake it with cheese on top at 350 for like, 30 minutes. it's relatively quick and easy. add a bagged salad and bread? easy dinner. you could even mix it all up and then put it in the fridge or freezer, and then bake it when you get there.
