A Buzzard or a Cardinal

I headed into Nashville yesterday to buy our dog his special food since our local stores didn't have it in stock. It was a thirty minute drive there and then a thirty minute drive home once I bought the food. I have been inspired by layouts that feature day to day photos of things we do each day so I was making a point of seeing beauty in my surroundings. I was so excited to see a blue jay and then a cardinal. I also saw some pretty wildflowers. However, the funny part of my trip is when a buzzard decides to walk across the road and stop right in front of my car. I had to honk quite a few times to get that silly bird out of the way. I thought, that's life, sometimes you get beauty like a cardinal and other times we get BUZZARDS! :). How is your day today? Are you having a cardinal day or a buzzard day?

I think it'll be a cardinal day (love that red beauty BTW, they were plentiful in Ontario where I grew up). I am having success with clicker training with the dogs this morning, will be out playing canasta later and then cribbage tonight, Wed is a big game day for us. The sun is shining and it is warming up. Looking out at the big blue sky of Alberta makes me happy. Oh ya...my new glasses are ready for pickup today too.

I love this analogy, @EvelynD2
I've never seen a cardinal IRL. We did see a bunch of buzzards when I was visiting my friend in Texas.
I've had several buzzard days, but today is a cardinal day so far!

I'm having a cardinal kind of day! I've rested today, and it's been quiet.

I love the idea of the cardinal visiting as a way of bringing encouragement for today and hope for the future. The idea of a cardinal visiting is not biblical but rooted in folklore, yet I find its intermittent visits quite comforting. On Easter morning, a cardinal flew into the garden outside my sister's kitchen window (our Mama's house). Both Anna and I said, "Oh, hey Mama." We continued to cook and work on Easter things, still talking to that cardinal for the minutes it stayed.

We do have have buzzards and those things are HUGE. Just the way they look is so intimidating.

I'm having a cardinal day. The weather is beautiful here today. I was blessed to be able to be in Bible study this morning, and I was able to eat lunch with my parents and get a bunch of errands done before coming home to put my feet up =)

Tammy, I am so happy you are having a wonderful Cardinal day after so many buzzard days! It makes me think of the Bible verse. "Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning." Praying you continue to have joyful Cardinal days!

I am so glad you are having a wonderful Cardinal day! We continue to pray for you and your healing! I know that cardinals visits are folklore but I also choose to believe that God can send them just like He sends rainbows! :)

I am so happy that you are having a Cardinal day today, Stephanie! It's wonderful that you were able to be spiritually encouraged today with your Bible study, have quality time with your parents and get some errands run! It's also good to be able to relax and put your feet up! :)

Cardinal day with buzzard feelings. I traveled back from Florida today, so I'm tired. I wouldn't drive a car making the sounds one of the airplanes was making, but I guess our pilot was fine with it. It was a smaller plane with a bumpy flight too. Ugh!

Traveling is very tiresome for sure. That had to be stressful with the noises the airplane was making! I am glad you are home safe and hope you have a restful night.
