A 5 hour shift turned into 10... grrrr

Not that I can't use the money, but how aggravating to come to work at my second job expecting to be here until 1, but now I'll be here until 6 because the person who was supposed to relieve me didn't show up or even bother to call. :cursing::cursing: I don't normally even work this shift at the gym, but I am covering for someone on vacation. Since there are only a few of us who work here, there are very limited options for finding coverage, and no one else can come in until 6. I have to be here again tomorrow morning to open at 6am too. Not happy. Plus, my iPhone died and I don't have my charger, so I can't even amuse myself by playing Candy Crush... lol. I don't know why I started with this :cursing: game in the first place anyway!
 
thats bad, but I hear ya on Candy crush. How annoyingly addictive is that game!!!! It doesn't help that a few of us from work are playing and we are all trying to get ahead of each other. what level you on? Iv been stuck on level 35 for over a week now argggghhh!
 
That is so frustrating! Years ago I was working fast food. I usually worked 8 hours but I was scheduled for a very rare 4 hour shift... 5-9 pm. We had a no-show and someone call in and by the time I left there it was 6:00 the next morning. My grandma was ticked off (I was a teenager still living at home and she was my ride) and finally showed up and told the shift manager that I was leaving no matter how short-handed they were. LOL I've worked plenty of 12 hour shifts in my life, but that was the only 13 hour one... and considering it started out as 4, it was just crazy.

Sorry you couldn't stay occupied with the game at least! I'm glad to hear that she won't have her job any longer. People need to take responsibility for their actions!

Hahaha! I get that competitive thing.... friends of mine got me into this, and I've passed one of them, but still trying to get to the other! I'm on level 65 right now, after being stuck on 64 for a couple of days. :p
 
Oh gosh, that is so frustrating! I would be very irritated. It's so disrespectful to do that to someone.

65 is hideous, i was stuck there for like 3 weeks. I'm stuck on 83 now.
 
My daughter worked Mcdonalds for a little while. When we had the shuttle launching for the last time and her working near the launch viewing places she had to work 8 hours had like 2 hours off and then worked another 8 hour shift. The worst part? Her husband got into a minor accident which ended up costing them several hundred dollars after dropping her off so her shifts were worthless.

Ugh. I worked at McDonalds's through part of high school and college, and even part time when I first started teaching. That is not an easy job, especially not for that many hours on your feet. The only good thing was that the time passed pretty quickly because it was always so busy!
