9 y/o boys are hilarious

My kit at TDD was inspired by the following conversations with Landon (my 9 y/o son). There's a lovely follow-up at the end of this, too. I'm rolling!

Beginning of January

Landon is playing some Squeakquel game or something, and the Chipmunks girls are singing "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." And here is the convo...

L: Mom must not want to be married. Girls just want to have fun, and marriage can't be fun.
Me: Marriage can be fun (I didn't really want to say it was all fun because it does require effort, etc.).
L: What's fun? S - E - X? (he spelled it) But you guys don't do that. At least you never get naked.
Me: You realize s e x is needed to make babies, right? [we have had age-appropriate conversations about bodies and such, and he's 9, and I know that we have actually not made the s e x = babies connection yet but felt this was a good time to go there]
L: Ohhhhhhhh. Ewwwwwwww. That means you had to do it at least once.
Me: Ahem. There are two of you.
L: Ewwwwwwwwww.
Me: (trying to get back on topic of marriage being fun) Well, there are lots of fun parts about S E X [yes...I said s e x instead of marriage...talk about a slip]

And then near the end of January...

He's watching Suite Life on Deck

on the show...
London: I'll be the big sister you never had.
Bailey: Actually, I have 6 big sisters and 3 little ones.
London: Boy, your mom needs a hobby.

then...
Landon: I understand what that means now.
Michael: What do you mean?
Landon: Now that I know about how babies are made, I understand what she said about hobbies. If the mom doesn't have a hobby, she just has s-e-x all day.

**********
This morning's convo with my husband...

Landon: {having conversation about my husband playing video games with him}...but you quit when I needed you most. And then Avery quit, too. (that's his big sister)
Michael: Avery likes playing with more people. That game isn't fun for her with just two people.
Landon: You need to have more kids.
Michael: We can't have more kids {and there is some dialog about adoption, tubal ligation, etc.)
Landon: It's all your fault for not having enough s.e.x. with Mom!

Michael calls me in tears from laughing so hard. I tell ya...Freud's got nothing on this kid.

This made me laugh so much...my DD will turn 9 this month and she's asking all the questions now.

One of the funniest things that happened in the past couple of months was we were all on our computers and I looked at DH and said wanna come to the bedroom with me...DH teasing me goes I don't understand what you mean...not realizing that DD was even paying attention we hear her pipe up...she's talking about sex silly. OMG I couldn't believe it..I'm pretty sure that I turned bright red that she was able to piece all of that together.

I so can't wait to see your kit...my curiosity is definitely piqued now.

OMG, that is funny. Scary part is I'm only a few years away from this, and I had no idea it would be coming that quickly!! aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!

*SNORT* that is absolutely hilarious! Can't wait to see the kit that was inspired by this...LOL...does it have birds and bees in it?

Why yes. Yes it does.

Based on the previous conversation, I find it hilarious that he didn't blame his lack of siblings on my scrapbooking.

Then again, my kids subscribe to the "Mom's always right, so Dad must be doin' it wrong" school of thought. :D

ROFL!! I can't wait to see the kit inspired by this convo!! And, my kids live by the same school of thought!

I'm wondering if it is just a "nature" kit ... or a woah baby check out this kit I can't believe she made one about s-e-x! yikes!

Krystal, that is hilarious! My 10-year old son has just started asking some questions. Like a big chicken, I always direct him to Dad!

I love your kit and love it even more knowing the background story. I'm excited to be doing a hybrid project with it for the TDD blog when your feature is up
