Just 9 days left of school and I'm outta there!! I love my job but boy am I ready for the break. Everyone is just over it. The kids are grumpy and anxious and tired and, well, done. The adults aren't much better. Everyone is rushed with all that we have going on and its just a little crazy. I have never been more ready for summer break in my life, not even when I was in high school did I count down the days. I always hated for school to be out. Now I'm counting down right along with the kids!
I think part of the problem is that I am fighting horrible allergies and I'm not dealing so well with them. I'm not getting anything done at home. My house is a disaster and I am just too worn out to do much about it. All year I've struggled to maintain and I never got everything accomplished like I had hoped/planned. Last summer I let things go and kept telling myself I'd buckle down when my kids went to school. It was the first time I was going to have BOTH of them in school full time and I was looking forward to so many projects during those 8 hours a day they would be gone. Not two weeks in to school and I accepted a job. LOL I figured its part time, I'd still have 4 hours a day to get stuff accomplished. Who knew 4 hours would FLY by so fast. It doesn't help that I've volunteered for everything under the sun and I'm always at one of the two schools I don't work at. Today I was at my daughter's school, yesterday I was at my son's, tomorrow I'll be at my son's again... and it goes on and on and on...
Long story short, I can't WAIT until the 22nd when I can say goodbye to the kids at school (which will, no doubt, be tearful as our 3rd graders are moving on to another building next year) pick up my own at the end of the day, turn off my alarm and get busy on this mess of a house!
