Anyone else geeked about the Olympics? I'm SO freaking excited. I just hope I can catch some Archery on TV somewhere. I know YouTube will have some video later.
 
i'm totally excited about the Olympics! i love watching the swimming, diving, gymnastics, track & field and some many more events!

You must not watch any NBC. Like ever. If I have to watch the Shawn Johnson commercial one more time where she says, 'Yeah, people are comparing me to Mary Lou Retton, and I'm like, Whoa, she's, like, Mary Lou...' I will SCREAM. :p

Yes, I enjoy watching the gymnastics portion of the summer Olympics. :)
 
YES!!! I'm so excited for the olympics. I love watching most all of the events, except most of the track (but I like field).
Plus, if I can catch some of the javelin throw, I'll get to see my BF Breaux Greer!! :)
 
I like watching the gymnastics and swimming. I'll probably miss most of it, because I'll be at my parents and they only have 2 channels...it WILL be on one of those channels, for sure, but I don't think I'll get to watch it much, lol.

not a joke. i hardly watch TV, don't read newspapers/online news, etc. (not even celeb stuff). sad, I know.

i like watching Olympics but NBC coverage (probably all networks would be same I guess though?) drives me INSANE. just keeps cutting to something else. would like to watch an event in its entirety . . .

Is Bob Costas going to be involved? i don't like him yet love to laugh at him.

have no idea who Shawn Johnson is . . .
 
My boys & I are sooooo geeked out about Swimming & Diving. I also love watching Track & Field and gymnastics, too!

I always enjoy the Olympics. Winter is my favourite but Summer is good times too.

You guys need to come up to Canada to watch. We have way better coverage. A lot more live coverage and for the most part they show events in their entirety without constantly cutting away.
 
I'm thanking goodness we have HD and the DVR so I can have great picture and cut out all the commercials. My faves are swimming, basketball and the rifle shooting - it used to be swimming, basketball and gymnastics, but the last couple of Olympics the interest in rifle shooting has moved up because of my husband's family (his half-sister is a fab bench shooter and is the youngest member inducted into the Bench Shooters Association, so I'm hoping she will try to compete in the Olympics when she's eligible (she's only 12 right now)). I've loved swimming since college as it had/has one of the top swimming programs in the country.
 
SUPER excited! I think it's one of my first recollections of feeling really patriotic as a kid - so I am looking forward to having that experience with my kids this summer.
 
Those of you looking for coverage of certain events should have a good shot of finding it this year. This is supposed to be the most "complete" Olympic coverage - including 1,000 hours more than the combined coverage for every televised Summer Olympics in U.S. history. :w00t:

I LOVE the swimming and diving competitions.
I love all the Olympics. I can find something fascinating to watch in both winter and summer :)
 
I'm very excited about the Olympics! I tend to like the winter sports better overall, but still love the summer games. I love the gymnastics, swimming, diving, and volleyball. I probably won't watch much track and field though.
 
I think I'm most excited about the swimming. It just amazes me that someone's dream could literally be dependent on a split second. :blink:
 
I like winter olympics better, but I love to watch diving, swimming and gymnastics.

Bree, Beckie ended up with a gold medal I believe, because the person who won failed a drug test or something.
 
A friend of mine, Sarah Bonikowski, made it onto the 8woman Olympic rowing team - I am SOOOO pumped to watch her! I've always enjoyed rowing, beach volleyball, diving, gymnastics... I'm PVRing as much as I can. :)

I went to highschool with and my sister dated Olympic mogul skiier Jeremy Bloom. I graduated with his brother Jordan. Their parents still live in the same house we used to TP in highschool. lol
 
DH plays soccer with a man whose wife won an Olympic gold medal in taekwondo (I think she was on the S Korean team). I got to hold her medal once when we had dinner @ their place.

I am more excited now that I have discovered TKD is a summer Olympic sport.
 
I'm into the artistic sports, too...diving, gymnastics...I will watch swimming, too, and any special interest stories that I know aobut. I usually stay away from track and field.
