I hope your snow does not head my way. It was 74 degrees here today.

That sounds like a two beer kind of day for sure. I can't believe you spent that much time in the car with small children and everyone came out alive.

I think you better drink an entire 6-pack.

We live where it snows & often times in the winter, if we travel up into SO. Oregon, we'll get stuck up there because of the snow.

Glad you made it home safe. I can't imagine being in the car for THAT long with the kids though..

typical for that area of Washington!! I'm in Eastern WA and we're getting the bitter cold.. with wind chill tomorrow and the next day.. -20 blahhh

Lisa, are you gonna get snow? and ususally Oak Harbor doesn't get snow and even today that said it was gonna be CLEAR and **MAYBE** some snow later tonight....that didn't quite work out!!!

Oh that's horrible. It once took me 4 hours to do a normally 15 minute drive after an ice-storm. Thankfully we didn't have kids at the time and DH was driving. I had to crawl in the back of our station wagon to well...you...know...I had drank some water!

Where I'm @ the snow is very dry and not sticking, but all around us is a blizzard warning!! It's crazy to be this bitter cold so early in the winter season!! :) usually we get the artic blast around January!

i would have died. no t hank you.. I did giggle @ the frozen door though.. That happened to ce's door once last year - he panicked a bit.. LOL im not a nice person for laughing

It's freaking freezing here today and snowing, I really enjoy winter when I don't have to go anywhere :D

I am glad you all survived. I would have ran out of gas like Meg, because I never have gas in the van...I'm terrible for that!

That is crazy!! I'm hoping the snow holds off for a bit here in Ohio. We're having a nice couple of days, it was 60 yesterday! I'm just so not ready for it yet.

My sister lives in that area and was stuck for 4 hours on the highway trying to get home. I felt bad because I had originally facebooked her about being jealous of the snow since I never get to see snow and how lucky she is. She commented back as she was sitting in her car stuck on the highway.:o

Yeah, that is a long time in the car! So many people ran out of gas on their commutes. I sent my staff home and we are all working from home today.

I left downtown Seattle at about 3:00pm and headed north on I-5 for about 10 miles. It took me roughly 90 minutes. It sounds like 5-8 MPH was pretty typical in the Puget Sound area yesterday. We are just not equipped for this type of weather. I totally understand that it doesn't make sense to buy a bunch of expensive road-clearing equipment for our 0-2 snow storms per year, but it's pretty interesting to see how disabled we get!

wow you really got hit! That sounds like the worst drive!!

My dad lives in Bremerton/Silverdale and he got about 5 inches of snow. Luckily he didn't have to drive anywhere. His power got knocked out yesterday and still isn't back. Inside his house is only 57 degrees! INSIDE! :( He is headed to the mall to hopefully warm up and wait it out until the power finally comes back on.

OMG I would've needed way more than a beer...I keep saying I wish I lived in the snow but I don't think I'm ready for that...Glad you made it safely
