5th grade woes

My poor dd. She is absolutely freaking out because she has to work with a boy on a math project at school. I mean, not just annoyed by it, but FREAKING OUT. She seriously wants us to call the principal and tell her that she is not allowed to work with boys.

Oh man, I hope she starts to relax about this.

LOL! I mean, that is terrible (but still kind of funny in a mean way I guess)! I feel bad for her though - I absolutely hated being paired with boys in school. In my opinion they were dumb, gross, and never knew what they were doing LOL.

LOL it's funny how boys are gross then in 2 to 3 years from now it's all they will be thinking of.

My 5th grade teacher used to punish me for talking too much by making me sit in the back with a group of boys. It was horrifying, yet effective.

Well, she said it went terrible. The kid was purposefully messing around and not doing the project right. On top of which she got a science report back and got a bad grade. Then she got mad at her brother for calling 'shot gun' before she could get to the van and accidently scratched his arm in the process of fighting for the seat. She stormed off down the street and refused to come home. Finally got her back to the van where she (rightfully) declared that this is 'the worst day ever'.

I totally agree.

I'm thinking it's pizza and margarita night.

Aww... poor kid! I have a 5th grader myself so I know how those mood shifts can be! My daughter, fortunately, has no issues working with the boys. In fact, she is good friends with as many boys as she is girls. I'm so glad that she hasn't started to think they are 'ick' yet and also that she hasn't started to think they are 'cute' yet either. ;) I'm fine with her attitude that there isn't any real difference right now between boys and girls.
